Jake’s POV
I lean in towards Lacy and pull her face up close to mine. As our lips touch, I feel the faintest of sparks and hear Lacy moan. We pull away from each other and I can see shock written all over her face. She must have felt it, too.
“Ryker, can you tell if she is mate now?”
“There are faint sparks, but I still do not know,” he says somberly.
“She must be our mate if we can feel the sparks, right?”
Ryker doesn’t reply.
It’s clear I’m not going to get an answer from my wolf about this. I’m going to have to see if I can find someone that knows anything about human-mate bonds. I would have thought that my wolf would find my mate just as easily, whether she’s human or wolf, but I’m holding on to hope that maybe this is different for some reason.
