After entering through a portal and crashing down in a jungle in the magical realm, Sky is out cold. He used way too much magic, and his last words were, “You’re safe,” which he said with such relief that I now feel guilty he had to save me.
Don’t get me wrong. I love to be a human, but… I wish I had healing powers or something so that I could help my mate.
But I don’t.
I feel entirely useless and sink my teeth into my bottom lip. I’m using a wet leaf to wash away sweat from Sky’s forehead and brush back his black hair, hoping it will help bring down his temperature. He is in his demon form. I suspect it's because he lacks the strength to use his glamor to remain human. He is also running a cold fever, which worries me.
