Lily felt a pang in her chest at her father’s words. "I know, Dad. I know it’s hard. But I believe in second chances. People can change, and Ethan has shown me that he’s different now."

Richard put a hand on her shoulder, his expression softening. "I trust your judgment, Lily. You’re a strong, intelligent woman, and if you believe Ethan has changed, then I’ll support you. But you have to understand why Lucas and Mia, and even I, are wary."
