Trap!

1245 Words
While strolling for few more minutes suddenly a gun fired right near their feet, “WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!” alarmed Shinn.   Romeo pulled out his long gun saying, “Let’s run and attack by using by using the detecting specular gadget” his friend agreed to it. With a swipe of their two fingers, the index and the middle finger over the one ear headphone, green glass headlights over their eyes like glasses. This gadget was designed for instructing the user along the way till he arrives at his destination. Here, both the knights were scanning for the location of the bullets. Once the gadget was activated, crimson points were marked every corner of trees, plus, beneath them, and on the roots. When they shifted their sights around, the point marking changed the era location into new angles. Hence, they were all surrounded by the targets of guns.   “It doesn’t sound well…” whispered Shinn looking around to his friend who was at his back, “We have been surrounded.”   Romeo turned grave and counted, “On the count to three. One…” his friend receded a pace upon analyzing what his partner meant. The bound between these two friends was a tight knob as well as similar to a wool thread. Both could understand each other well just by spelling a word or a sentence of three, not to mention even a sigh was enough to communicate, “Two……three!” and both dashed away.   Running with all their speed, bullets were launched over them, all appearing from different directions in addition to gunshot noises that deafen their hearing by the loud alarms. “They are attacking us from all directions!” warned Romeo, “Call the base for an emergency!”   Shinn touched his finger on his one earphone when suddenly he got stunned replying, “NO WAY!”   “What’s wrong?” asked his friend.   “There are No signals! We lost our connections from the HQ.”   “But, that’s impossible!” exclaimed Romeo in perplexity while both still running, “Our signals are always active. Then how come this happened to the connections. This is no good.”   “I am not sure so Romeo!” replied Shinn, “perhaps the radio weaves inside this jungle are been jammed due to the thick trees resting on the way. Remember weaves get interrupted by a natural strong object.”   His friend agreed to it saying, “This is not good! Guess we have to deal with this task by ourselves. Let’s fire everywhere!”   “RIGHT!” Both started shooting at their opposite sides. Romeo fired at his left whereas Shinn was at the right. With this, both could keep their distance from the attacking targets. From the other side firing opened, the bullets hit their armors, boots, and arm luckily with a spike it didn’t break through their body due to the effective barrier worn over them. Gunshots hit the ground while interrupting their steps. However, the boys jumped over, dodging them. Someone was attacking them in a form of the group, but with no identity, one thing was for sure: there was a sour enemy hiding behind the backs of Lazard.   Meanwhile, in the base, the operators were in the heating position of work. One youth from the right reported, “Captain Raimon, The two Knights Romeo, and Shinn have lost our signals. They can’t be contacted. It’s proceeding in failure.”   “Never mind about that” replied the Captain, “Keep the trace of the jungle in your screens. Make sure we don’t lose their path.”   “However sir,” spoke another staff member from the right member of the right, “Apologizes for interruption sir, there is a risk in losing their trace when we lose our connection with our comrades.”   “For real?” shocked the Captain contesting, “isn’t there any unique program ensuring the connection between the Knights and the base?” This confounded all the staff, staring at each other and turning dumb.   WARNING! WARNING!! WARNING!!! The red alert alarmed the whole blue hall, startling whole all members.   “What’s going on?” asked the Captain in rage.   “It’s a red alert!” shouted a member when all the others sped in their typing.   “We are picking up a strange signal from the nearby location!” alarmed a male staff member.   “What kind of it?” asked Kamran in caution? All were busy when suddenly their hands paralyzed all the white stuff. “What’s wrong?” asked the Captain confounded.   “Sir, it’s a grave situation,” answered a staff member from the left, “The signal we are with is the same frequency that we first met up during the field mission. Apparently, it has a complete difference as, plus, it appears from beneath the earth s though it has caught in its ratio an entire range of land. Perhaps an unknown phenomenon is soon erupting. We aren’t sure of the latest results because the signals are weak from the location we are receiving from.”   “What you mean?!” shouted Allison, catching all the attention on himself, “You lost the signal of the two knights. Plus, our radars can’t read the strange phenomena approaching that are said to be familiar to that field. On the contrary, don’t tell me you are picking up all the danger signals from the sites of Romeo and Shinn.” The young staff grew surprised and nodded in silence, looking down at him. This startled all when Allison recalled the place in terror, “The Ruined Jungle……..”   In the front, the Captain sneaked over his shoulder at him, speaking inwards, “His observation is keen. I bet it wasn’t a wrong pick after all. However, a question remains who exactly chose HIM for the last invitation. All the invitations were addressed in my custody. Then how did it slip to him? This is surely puzzling me?”   Back in the Jungle, the two knights arrive near a steaming river. “A River in this Jungle?” puzzled Shinn, “We aren’t sure of the steam, right? It was never examined by scientists.”   “You’re right, Shinn” nodded Romeo, “there could be some dangerous ratio fused inside, or perhaps, Gama rates must have affected the river. No clues from where this river has started about to however, we must try to avoid.”   “Then let’s jump across it!” exclaimed Shinn, taking up his decision. He held his buddy’s hand, suggesting he save the bag.   Once Romeo firmed his hold on it, with one heavy step, Shinn jumped high, flying high like a bird, and crossed over the white river, with his cape weaving into the air like a pair of wings. His balance stayed firm in the air without any burden in carrying a weight along, which even shocked his friend. With one jump, both flew over the river and landed safely on the other side. The moment they found their boots on the soil, strangely enough, the gunshot noises were stopped. Both gazed back at the empty forest when Shinn asked, “Do you think it’s alright now?”   “No clue buddy. Better be cautious” replied his friend, turning straight and pacing on. His friend took one glimpse at the back and soon caught up with his friend.
