Chapter 39 – The Barracks
“Oh,” Irylia said with a smirk. “Oh, my. Hello.”
Jerry peered around the corner. They were just outside the barracks room, squatting in the shadowed corridor outside the door. The barracks was one long room with a row of bunk beds on each side. A number of Reliants were present. Some lay on their beds and read from electronic devices. Others sat around in groups playing some card game or other. At the far end of the room were a handful of Paragon men. They sat talking at a table full of beer and wine bottles and occasionally burst into laughter. One Paragon—the one Irylia was ogling, no doubt—had just emerged from the shower room. He was completely naked, and he sauntered over to a pile of clothes and began to dress.
