I was shocked beyond words. Was this really true? She was alive.
She looked fragile and her body thinner. Her eyes held a haunted look but she was alive.
She looked around like she could not recognize anyone and she was wary of everyone but I was just happy to see her alive.
I zipped to her and my arms enveloped her in a protective embrace as I whispered her name in her ears. “You’re alive.”
She held her hands to her side as she was confused about what to say or do, but initially got it.
