Chapter 4: A Dark Dawn in the Dungeon

Serena's POV.
I was locked in the last dungeon as directed by the Alpha, Greg. The place looked so cold with just a window hanging up above. How could that be possible? It remained a mystery to me as I watched the mosquitoes surround me in dozens since it was nightfall. No one had come to see me nor say a single word to me since the morning hours of the day I was thrown here.
The ground in that cell was damp and there was no suitable place to lay one's head. Both male and female villains had been thrown into this place and had seen great things.
I didn't know what to do at all, all I kept on thinking and wishing was if this whole thing would turn out to be a dream but it wasn't, I kept on killing the mosquitoes which perched my light skin till I was tired of it. They had reduced anyway. I just had to let the little ones die on my way while I had a deep flashback from a few days ago.
**Flashback**
The trees were all waving at me while I stood and watched back in admiration. I threw stones into the lake which was in the pack and had a close look at my watch.
“Damn it's 5:30, I'm almost late and he isn't here yet.”
I waited for Greg who had asked me to see him in the Gray Park that evening. It was supposed to be a date but it seems he had an emergency with his dad and some elders in the wolf council which made him delay. He however gave me a call an hour ago and informed me he wouldn't be on time and assured me I would wait for him when I got here. I did as he requested because he was some sort of celebrity, but because I was beginning to develop something special for him.
“Ouch!”
I turned around to see him now as he laughed and held me close by the waist.
“Don't do that again.” I cautioned. He tingled my ribs with his fingers and it stimulated me. Luckily I had put the phone I had in my bag else from the way I turned on shock, maybe it would have been in the water by now.
“I am sorry, I just wanted to surprise you with my love.”
“Surprise me? Did you know I just had my phone in my bag a few minutes ago? If I had held it and you did what you just did, I would have it in the rover by now and you know what that would mean.”
“Mean? Like what phone are you using by the way?”
“It's a Samsung Galaxy S9.”
He kept silent and laughed at me so dearly.
“Why are you laughing? I asked, being so surprised he did.”
“My bad, actually I thought of the whole thing in some kind of way.”
“Hmm, are you trying to mock me for using a Galaxy S9? Or simply because you are the prince?”
“No, not all, I was just trying to say that the Galaxy S9 was no match compared to what I have here in this bag..” He smiled and handed me a mini fancy pink bag he held me.
“What's this?”
“Open it, you'll see.”
I wouldn't hesitate to tear the damn box open, to my surprise He had sent me a gift.
“A Galaxy 24 Ultra?!” I jumped on him right away as Astra rolled down my eyes. That was actually the third time we saw physically the first romantic day we had and he surprised me with such an expensive gift worth millions.
“You deserve more, my angel.”
“Awmn, you are so sweet my love, I don't know what to say to you but all I do know is that I am very grateful to my prince, thank you so much for this, I can't ever forget it. Oh my god, like I am no longer an ordinary Galaxy user, but a Galaxy 24 ultra.”
I could only imagine how it felt to be gifted at that time. Who could ever imagine me, a nobody, a servant girl, and nothing more holding a gadget worth millions in my hands?
“Let's have some food.” He said as he watched in smiles.
**At Present**
It was only a dream, to see that again, I felt pain in my legs and hit that spot, oh no, four mosquitoes at a goal, even though I wasn't going to be hanged or killed by the word, these insects here could within a day or two, the bacteria I would have in no time would need a critical meditation by a practitioner.
The whole place looked so quiet and calm and looked further and noticed the footsteps drawing near to my point. It was that of the guards, No, it was that of a female, two females actually. I saw a reflection of their shadow on the wall as I walked closer.
“Sister.” The voice called out with a tray in her hands.
“Sabrina?”
She revealed herself to me and I saw her clearly from her initial dark point.
“Well well well, hmm, I see how blurry you have become in a matter of hours.”
While she talked the second lady was still standing at the dark point and I couldn't tell who that was.
“Sister whom did you come with?”
“Is that important? Does it matter? Of course, it doesn't, but I promise you for sure you would know who it is, how do you feel?”
“Sister, why do you mean that, I am in agony and pain, you have to look for a way to help me get out of here, someone needs to talk sense to the Alpha.”
“Oh no sister, there'll be no need for that, no one needs to talk to the Alpha, all we need to do is make sure we cover our tracks and watch you burn.”
“What? I am innocent and you for one know I can't lay a finger on anyone let alone the AlphaKing”.
“Hmm, and you feel it made me happier seeing you go from Mall to mall purchasing items with the prince, seeing you live in luxury when I am the one in such a position, I am prettier! Better! Sexier! Smarter!”
“Sabrina?”
“Oh shut your track sister. By this time tomorrow, hmm, let's see, oh, you would be on the other side of the world, with the ancestors, nothing thrills me more than seeing the plan went accordingly.”
“Sabrina, it was you all along.”
“Oh no sister, be smart, we are fraternal twins but at least we share the same blood. I can't lay my hands on anyone as much as you, I wasn't the one who had a knife through the king's throat, she did.”
Sabrina Mae's way and the second lady came forth to light and I saw her too.
“Philo?”
“Hi, friend.”
“you killed the Alpha King?”
“Please don't call him that, he is a murderer, I was only allowed to have a payback for what he did to my family years back.”
Sabrina continued from here.
“You see Serena, if you recall, 8 years ago, her father was wrongfully accused of theft and what did the Alpha King do, he didn't bother to make a thorough investigation into the matter, he had him Slain, and by the word. I have written a script for you since you started hanging out with the prince, it hurt me so much because I was older, better, smarter, like what do you have to offer to him outside s*x and finish his money on your stupid Galaxy?”
“So that was what made you develop so much hate for me? Sabrina, we are twin sisters, even though Mom and Dad didn't accept me, at least we were there for each other.”
“Or please don't think you could use your silly tears to buy me over. Like I said, Greg doesn't deserve you, you are nothing but a failure to the family, to humanity, to everything, sister you have no how much I hated you when you didn't return my calls
Anymore, you just went ahead to make a fool of yourself by posting and disturbing all through social media, and that ends now.
You would be gone by dawn, and for your information, as I speak to you right now, Mom and Dad are having talks with the Elders in council am the Alpha on picking me as a mate, and I know he would, definitely, like what the actual f**k! You don't even have a wolf!”
Philomena took the food from Seren and dropped it at the cell bar gate, whispering into my ears.
“I'm so sorry Serena, I envied you too.”
“How much did she pay you?”
Tears ball flowed down my eyes as I watched my best friend pour the food on the plate to the ground.
“You won't be needing these, you'll be dead by dawn.”
**Morning**
I kept on watching the window hanging up as the sky changed slowly today. The bell from the citadel rang continuously and yes, Philo wasn't wrong after all, it was a bell that sounded whenever someone from the last was sentenced by hanging.
My eyes were reddish and tears and phlegm filled my eyes and nostrils as I cleaned them up with a part of my blouse I tore open.
Four werewolf guards walked to the gate of my cell just then and one of them voiced out.
“It is time…”
