Serena’s POV
In those moments I spent with Anna, I wasn’t Serena pretending to be Loretta. I was just someone who loved the little girl and who knew she wanted love.
As our days passed, our bonds grew stronger.
Anna would cling onto me with her little hands tied around my neck anytime we hugged and when we walked, she would hold my fingers tightly like she wasn’t going to let me go.
She followed me everywhere and I decided to make her feel a sense of peace.
She didn’t judge me for my mistakes and she enjoyed my company more than anyone else in the palace.
She also spent time with me in the kitchen to bake cookies which sometimes would make a mess and we would sit on the floor giggling and laughing at what we had created.
