CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE George and Sara spent the last couple of days taking in everything San Francisco had to offer. They visited Alcatraz, walking hand in hand and listening to the history of the inmates on their headsets. They went to Pier 39 for fresh crab and laughed at the plastic tuxedo-style bibs they were given to wear. They scaled Lombard Street, the infamous steep road with eight hairpin turns. George was fit enough to make it look easy but Sara had to pretend it wasn’t a struggle. They ate delicious food and had their fair share of alcohol but now it was time to pack up and leave. Sara took her time, knowing she would likely never stay in a hotel like this one again.
