Maya opened her eyes to white all around. It was like a scene from a movie, where the main character had the initial thought that they had died and gone to heaven, and then later realized they were in the hospital and it was just the standard white colors that the walls had.
She did not think of death. Because she couldn’t have died and gone to heaven. There was no explanation for how she felt, she only knew that this wa a hospital and something had happened to her.
Her only recollection of the hours leading to her current state, was the call she had with her mom who had finally had it with her and wanted Maya to leave her house.
