A video

Ava’s point of view My grip tightened on my phone as I filmed Julian and Lily having s*x in the bar's VIP room. I wasn't hurt because he was having s*x with her, but because he made a fool out of me with all the time he spent with her. He must have slept with her while I was waiting for him to come home. For some reason, I followed them when they came upstairs, but I didn't expect to see them naked, f*****g each other. I had to film it for our divorce. I'd use it as evidence to prove he was having an affair, and that's why I'm leaving him. My stomach hardened with each passing second as I looked at them. It felt as though my soul was slowly leaving my body. I tried my best to tell myself that I don't care about them; they can be together. All I wanted was to get divorced from him and finally have my freedom. I couldn't bear it anymore. I saved the video I had already taken before I started walking away, leaving the door slightly open. As I stepped into the bar, I found Sophie seated in the corner of the room, taking sips of her drink. I decided to go out and get some fresh air. The air was chill, slapping against my skin, causing me to shiver slightly. I ignored it all as I walked under the flickering streetlight. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realize when I reached the nearby park. Finding a bench, I settled down with my phone still clenched in my hands. The image of them kissing, moaning, and groaning replayed in my brain. He could have told me that he didn't love me. He could have filed for a divorce and left me, and I swear I could have endured it. But he chose to make a fool out of me, waste a lot of my time, and break my heart. I swear to God I'm not a vengeful person. I don't wish ill upon anyone, but I can't let Julian get away with everything he's done to me. I want to avenge this pain throbbing in my heart. I need to make him feel the same way I am right now. The sound of a car horn brought me out of my thoughts. I shifted my gaze to the road, and my eyes widened as they landed on a young boy standing in the middle of the road, while a car was coming his way. I placed my handbag and phone on the bench, sprang to my feet, and rushed to him. Before a car could reach him, I grabbed his hand, stumbled, and fell on the ground as the car passed us. He fell beside me, sobbing. My heart was pounding hard against my chest. Sitting up, I turned to the boy crying beside me. He looked like he was around five or six years old, his glasses now on the ground, tears streaming down his face. “Charlie!” I turned my attention to the sound of the voice calling out. I assumed the boy’s name was Charlie. My brows furrowed as my eyes met Ethan, who was now standing before us. His eyebrows drew together with worry. But a rush of rage coursed through me as I shot him a glare. Had I not been there, this boy could have been hit by a car. “Are you his father?” I sprang to my feet, my gaze sharp on his. He ignored me, helped Charles to stand on his feet, picked up his glasses, and dusted all the dirt on his clothes with his hand. “What the heck are you doing here?” His jaws clenched as he threw Charles a sharp glare. The little boy pushed him away and rushed over to me, wrapping his arms around me. “This isn't a way to talk to a child. He was almost hit by a car, and you are shouting at him. This is all your fault.” Anger was flushing through me right now, and I don't think I can control my emotions. He was supposed to be responsible for his child, but he's shouting at him as if he's not at fault. “Ava, I'd really appreciate it if you don't tell me how to talk to my child, okay, especially when you left yours at home.” His eyes finally met mine, and as usual, there were no emotions in them. And I don't care. This isn't about me, but his child almost died. “My child is at home sleeping, but your child was almost hit by a car, and you are busy being rude to him. Obviously, I will tell you how to behave with your child if you don't know how to.” My heart was racing with anger, filling my entire being. I was already angry, and he's just making the whole thing worse. Ethan narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp on me, his gaze clenched in anger. But I don't care about his anger, especially when his child almost died. I decided not to say anything to him and talk with Charlie instead. “Charlie, where is your mother, my dear?” I asked softly, looking down at him. His body shook with sobs, obviously scared about what almost happened to him. Anyone in his shoes could have felt the same way. “My Mama—” Charlie sobbed, his arms tightening around me. “She's gone.” My stomach hardened at his words. I honestly didn't know that his mother was gone, or else I wouldn't have asked at all. Poor boy, obviously his father wasn't interested in him, or else he wouldn't have left him on the road so late at night. Ethan pulled Charlie away from me, making him stand next to him, sobbing. “Dad, she's a good person, she saved my life. A car almost hit me,” he spoke between his sobs, which didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. My heart sank at his words. I swear if it were my own child, Caleb, he'd have told his father that Lily saved him, even if I did. Sometimes I even wonder what I did to deserve such a child. Ethan's eyes widened at Charlie's words. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. God knows what he must be thinking. “Daddy, ask her to stay with us. She will be a good mummy to me. I'd love to stay with her.” My chest tightened at his words. I'm sure he must be sad because his mother is no more. It was clear he had been yearning for a mother's love, especially when he was living with a grump like Ethan. My eyes widened in shock as Charles suddenly collapsed, and Ethan was fast enough to catch him before he could fall. He quickly scooped him in his arms. “Where is your car?” My voice was laced with dread. I don't understand what is happening with his child, and I can't just leave him alone like that. Ethan used one of his hands to take the car keys from his pocket before he tossed them to me. I rushed over to the bench, grabbed my phone and handbag, and followed him to his car.
