Ava’s point of view..
As I stepped out of the bathroom, I found Ethan seated on the bench. Charlie was better, but he was kept under observation for a few hours, and I just wanted those hours to myself to process everything he had just told me, and then I'd make my decision.
He turned to me as soon as he heard my footsteps. As I reached over to him, he stood up in front of me. Our eyes met in a short glance before I averted my gaze.
“I need some time alone; my head is all over the place right now.”
My tone was hesitant.
Uncertain. Doubtful. I needed time to pull my thoughts together. Leaving him and his son was not a good idea, but I honestly needed this.
Ethan nodded in understanding. “It's alright, Ava. Once my son gets discharged, I will head home too. Thanks for staying throughout the night.”
I forced a smile that didn't even reach my eyes.
“I will come by to check on him, if you don't mind.”
“Sure. He's your sister's child, and I don't have any right to stop you.”
“Thanks!”
Silence hung heavily in the air as Ethan and I stood there, our eyes locked. I should have left, but my feet were frozen on the ground, and he didn't take any action to go back to the bench.
Our eyes were communicating a lot of unspoken words as they echoed, but I didn't know what those words were, but they were deep…
I cleared my throat, pulling both of us out of the daze we were falling into.
Before I could get to utter a word, Julian, Peter, and Lily stepped out of the bathroom and walked to us. Julian was fuming with rage, Lily was faking sobs, and Peter was behind them like a lost dog.
“You are so shameless, Ava. You are busy here with another man while being married, and you don't even care about your own son.”
Julian's glare was sharp on me.
I scoffed at his words.
“Look who's talking about being shameless.”
I taunted, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips.
“If I'm shameless, then what about you? Before you judge me, look at your own errors first. At least I'm not sleeping around like someone else. But I understand why you are sleeping with her; she's sick with a few months to live, so she should enjoy having s*x too.”
Julian's face turned red with rage, his veins throbbing on his forehead.
“Ava, how dare you say that about Lily? Don't you have any emotions left in you?”
He shouted, Lily was crying for real this time, she's going to regret playing this sick game with me.
“I learned from the best, that's why I've lost all the humility and emotions I had. All thanks to you and your Lily.”
“I'm going to see how long you are going to last with no money. You will have no choice but to come back to me, and I will teach you a lesson.”
A bitter smile etched on my lips, I unzipped my handbag and slipped my hand inside, bringing out my wallet. I brought out all the credit cards that belonged to him.
I threw them at him, and they fell on the ground with a soft thud.
“I don't care about your money; take all your cards and see how I'm going to live without you.”
His mouth fell open as he stared at the cards on the floor, but I didn't give him a chance to speak.
“And yes, I've changed my mind about Caleb; I'm going to fight for custody of my son. You and Lily can make your own children. And please tell your girlfriend to stop acting as if she's the mother of my child.
I pushed that child out of me, and she knows nothing about giving birth to a child that she'd claim to be a mother to another woman's child.”
Julian raised his hand, ready to slap me, but I stared at him, my gaze sharp and stern.
“A man with no backbone raises his hand to a woman because he can't face his peers. Men like you are disgusting, weak, and a disgrace to parents who brought you up.”
Scanning him from head to toe, I turned and began walking away, leaving all of them dumbfounded.
A few minutes later
I paid the taxi driver before I stepped out of the car. I started making my way to the apartment, swung the door open, and stepped in.
I found Sophie pacing inside the room, her phone in hand. She rushed to me as her eyes landed on me.
“Ava, you are all over the news, and the whole country is calling you a witch.”
She handed me the tablet, I took it, and I couldn't help but chuckle as I watched a short video where I said Lily was going to die very soon.
She must have recorded me and posted this short video, but I'm going to show the whole world her true colors. She started this, and I'm going to finish it.
“I'm going to teach her good lessons.”
I muttered, bringing my phone out of my handbag. I scrolled down my gallery, stopping at Lily and Julian’s videos. Without thinking twice, I posted it on all the social media platforms.
The Caption Was
Lily, the angel of innocence.
Sophie's brows furrowed as she took my phone from my hand, her eyes widened as she looked at the video of Lily and Julian.
In less than an hour, my phone was ringing with notifications. I peeked at my phone only to see the video on f*******: had already five hundred comments, and most of them were angry at Lily.
I'm done playing nice; everyone who messes with me will face my wrath. This was just the beginning. Lily and Julian had better stay out of my way, or else there will be hell to pay.
