Xander leaned back in his chair, he’d just dismissed another of his Rehabilitation subjects. This one had been found entangled in a web of lies, having cheated on his wife of 20 years. What worsened the whole thing was that he had not only betrayed her trust. Often paying for escorts and it all reached a boiling point when he was caught by the police. The scum had gotten off with a slap on the wrist and an order to seek counseling.
Really, a prime candidate for Xander’s…educational offering.
Xander sighed, gazing out the window of his high rise office. The skyline of the city stretched before him, a sea of glass and steel under the pale blue sky. He wants to correct these misogynistic men. Taking on toxic masculinity one scumbag at a time.
The men would have no idea what was waiting for them as he was ushered to the special entrance and down a corridor.
" You may go, " he said, watching his latest student go. Then the man stumbled to his feet, straightening his clothes with shaking hands. He didn't meet Xander's eyes, keeping his gaze fixed on the floor.
" Thank you for the opportunity to learn, Mr. Stone, " he mumbled, making his way to the secret exit.
Xander waved a hand in dismissal. " You're welcome. Now get out of my sight. "
As the door clicked shut behind the subject, Xander tucked himself back into his pants. The day was turning out to be rather productive after all.
A moment later, the door opened again to admit Shirley. She took one look at Xander and shook her head, clicking her tongue.
" If I may be so bold for a moment. " She spoke as she came around the desk, setting a cup of coffee in front of him. " He looked rather beaten down, I understand that these men have made mistakes in life but haven’t we all? Then there’s the aspect of the at itself, surely if you were interested in such affairs there are other candidates? I have a lovely nephew name's Zackery, he’s a hair stylist. Such a sweet boy with lovely bone structure. "
Xander smiled, wrapping his hands around the warm cup. " Your concern is touching, Shirley, but unnecessary. As for my own proclivities, I'm not interested in them. "
Shirley's eyes narrowed, a crease forming between her brows. " But you were just— "
" Letting him service me orally, yes, " Xander said casually. " But that's as far as it goes. I have no interest in reciprocating or escalating things. "
"So you really are just using them," Shirley said. There was a note of disapproval in her tone.
" Of course. " Xander shrugged, taking a sip of coffee. " They need to be broken down before they can be rebuilt. What better way than by forcing them to degrade themselves in the way they've degraded others? Think of it as a sort of boot camp for those who have chosen to mistreat the women who were kind enough to tolerate them. "
Shirley was silent for a long moment. " I don't approve of your methods, " she said at last. " But I can see you've thought it through, and your goal is a noble one, so I'll continue to support you as I always have. "
" I appreciate your understanding, " Xander said. " And your discretion. Not everyone needs to know the grittier details of how the sausage gets made, as the saying goes. "
" Indeed. " Shirley straightened, clasping her hands in front of her. " Shall I start making calls for the next candidate then? "
Xander smiled. The day was looking brighter and brighter. " Please do. "
Xander leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers as he gazed out the window at the city stretched below. Things were moving faster than he'd anticipated, but he was ready. More than ready. Soon his ideas for the show would be real and his own project here would be making real progress.
A while later there was a knock on the door that jolted him from his deep thoughts. The door creaked open, and Shirley's face appeared again, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. " Get ready for some great news! Remember that TV executive you chatted with a couple of weeks back? Well, he wants to have lunch with you to seal the deal on your project. That network bigwig was genuinely impressed by your boundless passion and innovative ideas. They acknowledged the potential your show has in making a significant, positive mark on society and have enthusiastically decided to get the ball rolling on its development. Just sign the paperwork. "
Xander smiled, pulse quickening. " Did he mention any specifics? A time frame or budget? "
" She wants to discuss the details in person, possibly over lunch today " Shirley said. " Shall I call to arrange a lunch meeting? "
" Absolutely " Xander said, standing up and straightening his tie. The time for action was now. " Tell him I'm eager to get started. "
Shirley nodded and withdrew, closing the door behind her. Xander remained standing, gazing out at the city once more. Finally, the pieces were falling into place. He would have the platform and resources he needed to launch his vision on a massive scale. He smiled, anticipation simmering in his veins like a drug.
The future was his to shape. And shape it he would.
The trendy urban cafe buzzed with anticipation as the meeting commenced. Xander scanned the room and quickly spotted the executive at a table in a cozy corner. She eagerly waved him over, grins stretching across her face.
" Xander! We're thrilled you're here. We can't wait to dig into your reality show idea. "
Smoothly sliding into his seat, Xander smirks and says, " Thanks for having me. I'm bursting with ideas for this project. "
The executive spread out an assortment of documents on the table, primed for signing and deliberation. One of them brings up financing: " Xander, the network has set aside a substantial budget for your show. We truly think it holds immense promise. "
As they delve into financial matters, Xander listens intently to ensure his creative vision aligns with their monetary constraints. He eagerly chimes in with suggestions about set design, potential guest mentors to help the participants thrive, and even some unique challenges they could face - all while sipping his latte in style.
She interjects with enthusiasm, " Hey, how about we arrange a meeting next week to check out our current properties designated for reality projects? We're quite certain that you can tailor any one of them to match your brilliant vision. "
Xander's eyes light up and he replies animatedly, " Absolutely! I can't wait to dive into those locations and truly immerse myself in the atmosphere of each one. It'll give me a clearer perspective on what they could potentially bring to my show! "
With an optimistic atmosphere in place, Xander and the executives proceed with signing contracts and solidifying plans for future meetings. The set would need a reliable crew not just for filming but to help prepare his contestants.
Each party was equally thrilled about embarking on this new reality TV journey together. All the while aiding Xander in his plans that no one knew about. Something simmering beneath the surface.
Xander called his casting director as soon as the meeting ended. " Put the word out immediately. I want the casting call to go live tomorrow. "
" Tomorrow, sir?" The man sounded surprised. "Forgive me, but that seems rather sudden. These things typically take weeks to organize and promote in order-- "
" I'm well aware of the usual timelines, " Xander interrupted. "This is not a usual project. Get the information up on all the major sites and blast it out on social media. We're looking to cast women, the contestants need to be curvy to plus sized, age range from 25- 35. I want the widest range of applicants possible. "
" Not a problem I can get right on that" The casting director didn't argue further. "I'll get the listing live within the hour. "
" Good. And one more thing--I will run the audition directly and make any final decisions. "
" Understandably, I'll have a good range of casting candidates ready for you. "
Xander ended the call and gazed out the window once more, anticipation humming through his veins. Somewhere out there was the woman he needed, the woman who would be the perfect counterpart and foil to himself in this endeavor.
He had no doubt she existed. Now it was only a matter of finding her-and convincing her to join him in this radical social experiment that would change the world.
