Chapter 6

Word had been sent to King Astaroth of the Kingdom Gododdin. General Andrew sent along a report of his findings in Lamia, which was basically nothing. He would have sent word to the leader of Lamia, but he wasn't entirely sure where they had gone. Probably for the best at the moment. He also let the King know that Avery believes that the people of Lamia were destroyed, for now.

Astaroth is half demon, on his father's side. His mother, Isobel, came from Meath. His father, Anuro, was born and raised in Gododdin. They met when Anuro met with Isobel's father to make a treaty. Her father suggested a union through marriage, so Anuro would feel obligated to protect Meath as well as Gododdin. Anuro and Isobel agreed. They spent a month together, before they wed, to ensure that they would be able to work well together. When he saw her on her balcony under the moonlight, he knew that he couldn't accept anyone else, and strove to court her with great strides. He wooed her with flowers, chocolates, and whisperings in her ear of how he would treat her at home. She really fell for him when he wasn't even trying, he had stopped to help a little boy, who was lost, find his parents. She noted how sweet and helpful he was to the boy, and decided that he was who she was meant to be with. And, from there, they got married in Meath and headed home to Gododdin. King Anuro was amazing with his wife and children, Astaroth, Merideth, and Sybil. They were doting parents, who taught their children to care for others and prepared them for greatness.

Merideth eventually took off to travel the world. She now has a family half way across the world, in Frisia. She lives a modest life, and to talk to her, you wouldn't even realize that she is actually a princess. Her husband, Nathaniel, knows of course, and so do their children, but she keeps it away from most. She prefers to be treated as equals, rather than have others bowing to her and trying to do things for her. They have four children together, and dote on them.

Sybil had decided that she was going to build a college, to teach others how to be amazing doctors. She had always been interested in healing the sick and helping those who were hurt. She had decided in her early 20's that she wanted to share her knowledge and love of being a doctor with the world. She runs a successful college that is open to anyone willing to learn. There have been hundreds of award winning doctors who graduated under her care. Her husband was one of them, they started showing interest while he was a student there, but no one acted on it until after he graduated. They have two children, who both aim to be doctors when they are older. They have a big family reunion four times a year, to catch up and reminisce their lives.

Astaroth met his wife, Queen Jane, when he was learning how to sword fight. His master, Aaron, had brought his daughter along with him for the day. She was practicing too. She was a couple of years younger, and at first they didn't get along very well. She would get jealous that her dad spent so much of his precious time with Astaroth, that she never held back when they'd spar. They were pretty well matched, each winning the spars pretty regularly. Eventually, they had started doing other stuff together, like reading, painting, fishing, et cetera. This is what lead to them getting closer and eventually gaining each others trust. They eventually wed and had a son, Rowland, and a daughter, Audrey. Rowland is thirteen, and Audrey is 9.

Astaroth calls his son, Rowland, forth and prepares to have him infiltrate Desmond, to find out just what is going on. Infiltration and figuring out what is actually going on is the best solution. He will send his son, the easiest person to disguise himself as a human from his kingdom, as his horns haven't grown in yet. He sets Rowland up to be a dukes son, and casts a memory spell on the dukes household, so they only know him as their son. No one else will dispute it, for the Duke hasn't taken any of his children to any events as of yet. This works out perfectly, and before he knows it, Rowland is walking past the threshold of the castle of Desmond. His "Father," Duke George Lowe, introduces him to King Avery, who then in turn, introduces him to Princess Constance and they get along well. King Avery suggests that the Duke and his son stay for a while to get to know how the castle works and interact with the princess.
