Chapter Twenty-Four Phillip Aurora didn’t get better. Each day she drifted further and further from the people who loved her. The skin on her bones turned ashen. Her face lost its roundness. And still, they had no answers. The healer looked up from where he was bent over the girl who no longer looked like she was in a serene slumber. Instead, pain coated her features. “There’s a fever going through the village.” He sighed. “Many have died. I don’t know what to do for Aurora.
