“I need some fresh air.” In the car, I couldn't stop thinking about that obnoxious woman. I asked Nives, my driver, to pull over. Once outside, I headed toward a nearby city park, grateful for a chance to clear my mind. Two warriors trailed me but stayed at a respectful distance. I reminded them not to draw attention. As I strolled through the park, I found an empty, freshly painted white bench and sat down, letting the familiar sights soothe me. It had been a long time since I’d left the mansion, and the memories hit me unexpectedly.
