Amelia's POV
The door slams harshly as Dominic walks out of our home.
I went out on a date with a man, and I kissed and wrapped my arms all over him? When did that happen?
My head is reeling, trying and failing to remember when that happened. I don't even have any friends so who the f**k could Dominic be-
My eyes widen and I gasp. Is he talking about Eric?
But how was he able to come across us? Did he stop at the restaurant where we had dinner?
Well, none of those questions matter right now because my husband somehow came to the assumption that I'm f*****g cheating on him. Whereas he's the one cheating on me, and I'm the only person that has the right to be mad.
The sound of Dominic's car peeling out of the driveway at a high speed has my gaze shooting out of the window just in time to see his car pass through the street in a blur.
Worry snags at my chest as I remember that he had been drinking. What if he got into an accident and harmed himself or someone else?
Without thinking about it, I reach into my purse, clutch my car key in my hand and head for the door. I rush to my car, slide into the driver's side and slide my keys into the ignition. Dominic doesn't have the right to be mad at me when he's the one that actually cheating. I'm going to defend myself from the accusations that I never committed then I will confront him about his own cheating tendencies.
It was stupid to have kept mute for so long. I've known that he has been cheating for five months and yet I've never confronted him. Meanwhile, Dominic believes that I've been cheating for less than an hour and he's throwing glass cups at the walls and breaking the law by driving drunk. He doesn't deserve the leniency I'm giving him. It ends now.
My car pulls into the street with no trace of Dominic's black BMW in sight. I rack my brain for a bit, pondering over where he could have gone to. This house is the only property he has in this city so he might have gone over to a hostel. But he seemed so troubled that I doubt he would have immediately driven over to a hostel.
A thought enters my head.
Ever since the birth of our baby who unfortunately came into this world without air in her lungs, Dominic has been going over to the little grave we dedicated to her in the cemetery anytime he has something on his mind. He sits there and cleans her grave or just talks to her for hours. He loves spending time there. Unlike me who found it hard to look at the grave that signified what I lost. I hardly went there and when I do, I always run away with tears in my eyes.
If Dominic is feeling troubled, he will head over there.
I turn the car around, changing my path to that of the cemetery. I'm driving at a safe speed when another thought enters my head. The best way to convince Dominic that I'm not cheating on him is if he sees Eric for himself and has a conversation with him. My newfound brother will be able to easily convince him that the only relationship between us is centred around the half-blood that we share. If that doesn't work, he could easily show him the DNA and the other proofs he showed to me. They will do the trick.
Grabbing my phone, I take my gaze off the road for a second and search through my contacts for the number I recently saved less than an hour ago. I find it and click on it. It rings for barely a second before Eric's deep voice flows through the speakers. "Amelia," he breathes out.
"Eric, I need your help," I rush out.
A loud honking takes my gaze back to the road where a bright headlight belonging to a trunk blinds me. I squint my eyes as fear slams into my chest, knocking the breath out of my lungs.
"What's that sound?" Eric's voice asks anxiously through the speakers, but I don't answer because I'm frozen in my seat with soul-chilling dread. "Are you driving?" He asks.
I scream and swerve off the road. I lose control of the brake. My feet keep repeatedly slamming against the brake, trying to get my car to stop as I head straight for a huge tree.
"Amelia!" Eric screams. "What's happening? Where are you?!"
Those are the last words that I hear as my car hits the tree and my body jolts out of my seat but is pulled back by the seat belt wrapped across my chest. My head hits the steering wheel with a loud sound and I knock out.

My eyelids slowly flutter open but I quickly shut them close as I get a peep of the blinding lights awaiting me. Since when did I start sleeping with the lights on?
With a groan, I force them open and confusion hits me as I look around at the room that looks a lot like how I imagined a hospital room to be. That confusion goes to the far back of my head when a sharp pain hit me straight on. I clutch my forehead with both hands just to find a set of stitches beneath my hairline. I push back the hair covering it and feel the surface of the stitches. What the hell happened to me for me to get stitches on my forehead? And what am I doing in a hospital room?
"You're awake," a cheery voice notes and I look over at the door to find a nurse letting herself in. She walks over to my bed and presses a button on the wall. "Let me page the doctor so that she can do a check-up on you."
"W-what happened?" I stutter, still clutching my head.
She looks at me with a raised brow. "You don't remember the accident?" She asks softly, sounding slightly worried.
