Evan knew he should have stayed home. He was hidden in a small valley cave. This place was so strange. He had thought Chris was lying when he said he was coming to the North Pole. Everyone knew the Ice wall was here. Chris explained he needed to change places with a new Captain, he was too old to make the journey anymore.
The old Captain had been doing this for years, bringing supplies to the ice wall and leaving. Their payment always ready at the beach. He was training this lot to be the new importers.
All Chris and his crew was supposed to do was... Go to the spot of the Glacier with a spiked peak, There would be three openings, all traps. They would cave in anyone who tried to go into them, their opening was between the second and third opening. A mirage, or illusion wall.. Faery Magic, as the Prince of the Pole wanted supplies. Mostly it was a lot of Liquor, Beer and Drugs. Some other silly things like snacks, clothes and jewelry. It was all prepaid, and they were paid. They were supposed to get to the shoreline after going through the mirage and stacking the cargo on the black sandy beaches. Then leave. 12 duffel bags would be waiting, and they were the payment. It was supposed to be an easy drop and pickup. Leave and viola...Fast cash. However, one of his new guys didn't want easy. He wanted to explore. Before he knew it, his whole crew had mutinied and now he was in this cave. The Captain had been taken, he was his First mate. Although Henry might be dead now. Evan had watched those monsters come out of no where. They had been walking down a path, and found a small town. Rustic, cool looking, then giant Man wolves had come out. Not like the movies of over-sized wolves. Nope, these things were man like, and furred. Massive maws, and 8ft in height. He had never seen anything like it. It was soon obvious they were male and female. He had taken an AK-47, everyone else had small handguns. He had his Desert Eagle tucked under his left ribcage. But the Ak sat on his shoulder as he walked, the first monster he saw was shot up. AND still came to him, he made it a point to get head-shots. Only one worked, these monsters seemed to catch on, not letting him get another in. Then one of those f***s came up behind him and about ripped him in half, biting into his clavicle and breaking it. He had unloaded his Desert Eagle into it's face. However now he was just trying to make it past the fever.
Evan had been holed up in the dark for two nights and a day now, his body trembling as he soaked through his clothes. He didn't notice when he had healed up. Evan hadn't realized when the sun had gone down again, but he woke up so thirsty. A small spring was located in the back of the cave where he was sleeping. He crawled to it and got inside when he realized it was hot, and drinkable. He drank as much as possible and then slid inside. The water stung his tired bones, and he waited for the pain of his shoulder to kick in. Yet felt nothing, he let himself find a place to sit in the water, peeling his clothes off, realizing the rocks that lined the entrance of the water was hot. He placed his wet clothes there, watching them steam and start to dry.
His wound was gone, but a scar of teeth and claws now marked his flesh.
"What the f**k is happening?" He wasn't one to believe in weird s**t. But he was in the middle of some weird s**t and felt like this had to be a dream.
"Okay Evan, wake up. " He shook his sandy brown hair, light brown eyes with flecks of blue emeralds in them. His long lashes were envied by every woman he had ever met. He stood at 6'5, 280lbs. But right now, he felt a burning in his belly that said his body was eating itself. Now, that he wasn't in so much pain he could think. What was happening here? He was bitten by a monster, werewolves? Was he going to turn into a monster now? What the f**k was he going to tell his .. He stopped that train of thought. He had forgotten Helen left him when he took this job. She hadn't wanted to wait or be alone while he was making them ridiculous easy money. Well it had been, until the others decided to explore and walk to the sound of the music and twinkling lights. Evan wished he could have gone back in time and stayed home. Helen was wrong of course, but she was right. He looked to his clothes and gasped, they were on fire. He stood up, so fast he should have been dizzy. Instead he all but flew out of the hot spring. Yanking his clothes to the cold ground and stomping they were ash and burnt material.
"Fuckin polyester." he growled and sat on his laurels, unsure what to do now. Now, he was in a foreign place. Being hunted by monsters and naked. Anything else dear lord? He looked up and glared at the cavern ceiling. See a dome like heaven with beautiful colors showing the cave had been underwater once. It was layered in different hues of blue. He bowed his head and sighed, what the f**k man.
"Are you sad?"
He fell back from shock into the water splashing and thrashing like someone was drowning him. A squeak and then giggle was heard. By the time he regained his footing and sat up looking to where the voice had come from, he was looking like a drowned cat. His long hair was normally robust curls that hit his shoulders. Right now, he was seeing through a veil of webbed hair in his face.
"Huh?"
He finally got a good look, but he couldn't be seeing what he was looking at. A small female child like creature was standing four feet from him, but... Heh. She had wings? Purple shimmering hair that was gorgeously thick and framed her whole body. Her thin arms and legs and torso reminded him of what a fey looked like. He just thought they would be bigger.
"Are you like Tinkerbell?"
The creature laughed, it was like tinkling bells.
"I like that," She giggled again, and something wasnt right with her smile...She had fangs, her canine and the tooth behind it looked like fangs. He swallowed, unable to take his eyes off her. She was no bigger than a stuffed teddy bear, maybe a foot and a half tall.
"No, I am Kalilah. What is your name werewolf? Why are you not with your clan?" She moved to him in a way that seemed unreal, her wings were as long as her body. She looked like an insect. Long thin arms and legs, yet beautifully small. Her eyes large and almond size, like a small baby animal. Her face was beautiful and her wings were iridescent as they fluttered. It looked like dancing glitter wind. She spoke, and it woke him from her spell. She was frowning, "Oh no, you look likw your fey struck." she sucked her teeth, wringing her tiny hands.
"Fey what?" he asked, confused.
"Feystruck, it only happens to humans. But I can see your other face behind your human face. You used to be human, wait.." She flew to him, making him slide back and gasp. Water splashing everywhere. She was leaning closer now, with her small delicate head tilted. She smiled and blushed. "Your so handsome!"
He blushed now, and his eyes looked down. He was a little too happy, his hands covered his groin with both hands. He shrugged boyishly and watched her.
"Wait were you the human who killed Sasha? The one she bit?" she was tapping her lower lip now, as if the small tic gave her comfort. "That thing had a name? I thought they were monsters.." he mumbled, looking to the bubbling water as if it had all the answers.
"She was a Lycanthrope, they protect the North Pole, and to her and us...Humans are the monsters. You blow things up, ruin the air, pollute the waters and destroy everything you come in contact with. We have been protecting this earth for eons. Your people have killed us and hunted us, so now we hide. " She bowed her head in sadness.
