Pierce The Veil- Disasterology
B.B.
My dad scared the living crap out of me tonight. He was livid and I mean his was so mad I tasted the bitter bite of my own death in the air. He punched right through that b***h like it meant nothing to him and I know I'm not going to recover from that for a while. I mean I killed two of these things with Stacy and Shane and I can easily say none of that scared me more than seeing him walk through the little hallway at the entrance of this crappy club. I have to remember this the next time I tell him to go f**k himself. That could easily have been me. My chest. Sure, he would have regretted it later but he snapped and I pushed him to it.
Tonight is going to end disastrously. I feel it in my soul. I've been holding back since I got back. Just replaying everything that's happened since the Summer began until now over and over again. It's all been piling up to this.
"B?" Lucien waves his hand in my face. I shake off the feeling and nod. Right. World Domination first, an apology to the world's scariest dad, second. This s**t with Chance and Remy for the end. In that order. I hope because I am f*****g tired of feeling all wound up like this. I know the guys are too. I was promised the pit and I might need it later.
I fix my mask and pull my hoodie over my head. Now that my brothers are here, I can't afford to have anything coming after us or them the way the hunters did the night they were born. They'll be safe in the Haunted Mansion but they're not always going to be hidden away in there. Eventually, we're going to have to let them out. Once I start college, s**t is going to change. I'm going to be on the move constantly. We need to fix this before then.
"We're live," Delilah gives me a nod. I straighten myself up and look directly at the camera as Lucien zooms in on me.
"Good evening," I say in Hellian so the intended audience knows this is for them. "This message is for those of us who live in the shadows. For those of us who dwell in the light," I look down at my hands and raise them, showing the blood I've spilled tonight. "To a lot of you, this will mean nothing but I urge you to listen anyway.
"A lot of you seem to believe that mercy means that I am soft. That I will stand by and allow you f*****g assholes to come into my City to take what you please. I assure you, that is not the case. Your miserable existence has led you to believe that I owe you something. It's given you a false sense of superiority. You seem to think that you are somehow better than me because of what I am," I laugh. "You're not. You're nothing to me. To us," I hold my bloodied hands out wide. Lucien steps back revealing everyone behind me standing in front of the twelve crosses. "We do not bow to any of you but I assure you that once I am finished with all of you, you will bow to me. Resistance will be met with punishment.
"These are changelings," I lower my hands. "A pack of them led by this one," I point at the one with the two gaping holes in the middle of her body. "I offered her my assistance. I removed a den of a hundred and sixteen wendigo infants in her region. Her mate attacked my Omen the moment I turned my back. It was a mistake I will never make again," I tuck my hands behind me.
"I can be one of two things. I can offer you my help. My love. My power. I can be everything you ever dreamed of as the Reaper you all deserve to have. I can offer you a home. Whatever you need. Hallow, Nocturnal, Demonic, Angelic. If you grant me the same courtesy, I will never turn you away. I will never leave you in the darkness we were abandoned in.
"Those of you who will try and come for me and mine. I offer you this," Carson holds his hand up. Low screeching sounds, something like bottle rockets, echo consecutively and the bodies go up in flames. "Hallows, Hunters of the Church of Light, Demonic entities, Angelic entities, nocturnal beings. and mortals will all be treated equally. You are either my enemy or my friend. There is no in-between. There will be no them versus us. There is only us and if you aren't one of us, you are nothing. I am Merciful Death and implore you. Choose what happens next very carefully. You've all made things very clear from the moment you came after my family. You made your choice and now I have made mine. You will obey or you will die,"
Lucien puts the camera on the tripod. He and Delilah get in line with the others. When I step back Carson and Stacy place their hands on my shoulders. We all lift our hands up flipping off the camera. I pop us all back to the rooftop where we left the Hummer. It doesn't take long for the sirens to echo all around us. Both Fringe and Hunters show up looking around. The fringe cuts off the feed that went on for no less than fifteen minutes. No matter what they used to try and put out the flames, Carson doesn't let them. The crows continue the feed until the bodies are nothing but ash on the ground.
"Take your places," Delilah orders the others. "None of you are allowed to be alone. Our hunters are all in position. Is that clear?"
"Yes," everyone answers.
"B, take us home," she places her hand on my shoulder. "We're done here,"
They all pile into the Hummer. I climb on top of it and pop us back to the house. I stay here feeling the coldness of their souls pass through us. I pull my legs up wrapping my arms around them. This is what I had to do, I remind myself. There is no other way. Even if there was, it's been made clear that I don't have another choice. My parents are all waiting for us on the front lawn. The others leave Delilah and me to them.
"Come down here," Mom urges. Delilah looks up at me and offers me her hand. I take it. The two of us stand in front of the three of them.
"B.B. what you-"
"It was a stone decision," Delilah cuts our dad off. "We decided together. Bella simply chose to take center stage this time,"
"Are you out of your f*****g minds?" David shouts. "You have brought down-"
"Shut up," I growl at him. He flinches taking a step back when Remy appears behind me with him. "I don't have to explain myself to any of you. You knew what I was going to do all along. Why are you acting so surprised?"
"This is not-" Dad starts again.
"Then how? How would you have done it, Dad?" I shout. "Oh, wait. You f*****g didn't. You chose to be what you were and we've made our choice. You don't get a say in it anymore. You're all f*****g dead. It's done. Whether you like it or not. It's out there,"
"You just called the entire supernatural world a bunch of f*****g p*****s, B.B.," he growls.
"She also told them to obey or die. I think you nailed it," Delilah grins.
"B.B.," Chance says my name quietly but his voice cuts through all of us as if he would have howled it with all his rage.
"What?" I say hoping to have the same effect. I am so angry with him right now. With him and Remy.
"You wish to speak with me?"
"I never said that," I turn around to face him.
"You are upset,"
"Upset?" I shrug. "Sure, let's call it that, Chance,"
"What did I do this time?" he sighs. My dad tries to mask it with a cough but he laughs.
"Danny," I hear Mom smacks him. I toss Chance my phone to show him the broadcast.
"I don't see the problem. This is part of the plan you showed me," he offers me the phone.
"That's the changeling you made this lying b***h let live in Rionegro," I tell him. He glances at Remy who lowers her head. "She came here with a pack of her kind. She had my blood and gave it to them. She put her hands on Ahsan," he stiffens. "It took me a while to figure it out. Why I lost my Reaper attacks the way I did that night. You called her away,"
"I did,"
"Stacy could have died," I slap the phone out of his hand. He sighs lowering his hand. "I had to put an I.V. on her. That thing nearly tore her wing off. You left me completely unprotected. For what?"
"I have no obligation to explain my reasons to you, Belladonna," he shrugs me off.
"What about the rest of us?" Lucien asks from behind my parents. The others step out of the house with him. "You promised us you wouldn't let anything happen to her,"
"And nothing that she can't handle has happened," he says. "As promised,"
"She almost died," Carson growls at him. The crows bend the shadows around us.
"What is it you want, Belladonna?" he grins ignoring them.
"Jesus f*****g Christ," Dad huffs.
"Answers,"
"No," he shakes his head. "I am not your father, B.B. Nor am I your mother. You will not bend me by throwing a fit simply because you feel wronged. Do you think you are my only concern? You think too highly of yourself, Little Death,"
"f**k," my Mom huffs.
"I apologize for the injury," he waves me off. "But you will get nothing else. You are a big girl, Princess. You survived that attack and this one. In fact, it has proven to be more than just an inconvenience to you. It's hardened that trusting nature of yours," he steps closer to me and taps my chest. "It's helped you get stronger. It's given you the confidence to step out of the little dark hole your father hid you away in. Look at you," his hand wraps around my throat tightly. "You're well on your way to becoming everything I need you to be,"
"f**k you, Chance," I hiss at him letting Eve's venom spit in his ridiculously beautiful face. The fucker laughs wiping it away before licking it off his hand. My body trembles when his eyes fade to white.
"Is that any way to talk to me, my love?" he growls. My body tenses when the little furry spot on the tip of his hail brushes my face. He looks over my shoulder at David. "I am only going to make things worse for you if you don't give me what I want,"
"Is that why you did it?" I choke out. "To teach me a lesson?"
"And if I did?" his eyes came back down to me.
"You really haven't been paying attention to me have you?" I pop out of his grasp. He flinches and stumbles forward when I pop back behind him. I grip his tail tightly making him growl. "What lesson do you think I'm going to learn?"
"Release my tail, Belladonna," he growls.
"Or what?" I laugh. He swings the moment I pop away from him. He spins trying to hide his tail from me. I pop up behind him again and grip it again slightly bending it this time. He howls out in pain and drops to his knees. "This is a little game I learned to play with my devils. Their tails are just as sensitive as yours. You are going to stop f*****g with me, Chance. If you don't want to give us answers, that's fine. Pinche demonio pendejo," I release his tail. He immediately stands and is in my face again. His pissed but he's not lashing out again. "How's that for a f*****g lesson?"
His eyes are flickering from red to white. I haven't calmed down from inhaling Eve's venom and the bite. My body is wired and ready for a fight. His hold on me earlier has even registered yet. I am over his stupid threats. What can he really do to me if he needs me here to do what he wants me to do? He glances over at Remy.
"I told you," she tells him.
"You are out of control," he growls.
"I'm out of control? You left me to f*****g die in the middle of the jungle, you bastard," I shove him angrily. His hand comes up and I'm barely able to dodge the slap.
Remy is at my side instantly with my scythe in hand. Everything around us darkens and the others disappear. She entwines her fingers to mine. Her bones break apart and latch themselves to me protectively. My scythe expands just as he comes at me with his claws extended. The clash of his demonic energy against Lucifer's spear explodes. The barrier he put around us shatters. I pop us both away from the house and others. Into the forest where the stump is. The blow connecting us comes with and my back smacks right into a tree knocking the air out of my lungs. I fall forward trying to catch my breath. Before my knees could even hit the ground, he pins me to the tree by my throat. I grip his wrist and pop us back to the house.
"B.B.," my Dad growls and he's ripped away from me.
I hold my hand and out for my spear and as soon as it's in my hand I launch it at my dad's back as hard as I can. I pop forward gripping his jacket and then pop us away. Chance howls out in pain when the spear goes through his left shoulder. The rod goes halfway through him and pins him to the big ass tree near the front gate. I let go of my dad and go after him.
He's clawing at the spear trying to pull himself out of it. The pain must be a lot because his massive wings break out from his back and the sound he's making is almost deafening. He can't hold his human image. I place my hand on his chest and push him back until his back is against the tree.
"You will never attack me like that again," I scream.
"Get it out," he roars.
"You are not my master," I cry. "You aren't anything to me. You mean nothing to me. All you've done is made my f*****g life so much harder than it already is! Who the f**k do you think you are?" I pull at the spear making him scream. "I've been good for you! I've done everything you've asked of me and this is how you f*****g repay me?" I shove the spear forward. "You will not get anything else until you f*****g learn that I am not a f*****g toy you can do whatever the f**k you want with! Do you understand me?"
"Yes," he pants trying to calm himself. "Now get it out,"
I pull rip the spear out and take five steps back holding it out in front of me.
"You made me do that to you," I cry. His eyes are wild but they're no longer angry. "You made me f*****g hurt you. You said you loved me. Is this how you love? Is this what you think I deserve? I am letting you take these things from me without complaint, Chance. I am sick and tired of you treating me like I'm nothing! Like I have to give you something for your f*****g love! You don't even f*****g love me!" I scream at the top of my lungs. "Why? Why!"
"B.B.," my dad comes up behind me wrapping his arms around me.
"I hate you," I throw the spear on the floor in front of him as he tries to stand up. "You are going back to hell and you are going to leave me alone until you f*****g learn how to respect me as your friend or the next time I see you I am going to put the f*****g spear through your heart! You asshole!"
"Ash!" he roars. Ashmedai appears beside me and my dad looking us over worriedly.
"They sneak up on you, Chance," he laughs and crouches down in front of him. "They have a breaking point, Nephew. Did your father not teach you that?"
"Get me home," he growls.
"Ask nicely, nephew," he grins.
"Now," he roars again.
"All right. All right," he laughs, placing his hand on his head. He glances back at Delilah. "I'll be home late, my love. Don't wait up,"
"Okay," she croaks. The two of them disappear.
"Let me go, Dad," I tap his hands.
"I need you to calm down, Pinky. You're giving off a very menacing aura. I have to make sure you don't accidentally hurt the others, baby," he whispers in my ear.
"Okay, but let me go or I won't be able to release them," I nod. He slowly lets me go and steps away from me. I turn around to face putting my hands up to show him I fully intend to calm down.
"Jesus," he laughs. "Look at you,"
"Rem," I place my hand on my chest.
Her bones fall to the floor letting me go. My body instantly warms when the cloak falls away and covers them. She puts herself back together between my dad and me. I let out a sigh of relief when Eve's venom begins to fade. My dad catches me when I stumble forward as she materializes behind Remy.
"I got you, Pinky," he says worriedly.
"I'm sorry," Remy bows her head. "I am so sorry, Little One,"
"Why did you do that?" I smack her hand away when she reaches for me.
"I wasn't born this, Belladonna," she places her hand on her chest. My dad helps me up.
"Then what were you born?" he asks her.
Her empty eyes stay on mine and I understand. I look over at Ashley who is holding my sister. When I look back at my Reaper, I can't for the life of me stay f*****g mad at her.
"You can't do this to me, Mercy," I let her reach for me this time. "You have to choose. I know it's not f*****g fair but that's the way things are. You can't be my Reaper like this. You have to make a choice. You made me choose and I chose you. You swore eternity to me. Not to him. So f*****g choose. Right now. Who is it going to be, Mercy? Me or Chance?"
"You, Little One," she answers without hesitation. "I am always going to choose you. You are mine. I am yours. You were never alone, Belladonna. I'd never leave you alone,"
"But you f*****g did. This whole time I was blaming myself. Stacy almost died. You lied to me, Remy. How am I supposed just to let that go?"
"I am sorry," she bows her head. There are black tears streaming down her boney cheeks and it's breaking my f*****g heart because it wasn't even her f*****g fault to begin with. It was all him.
"If you ever do it again, Rem. I will never forgive you again. The locket will be insufficient then. I will make a vessel I can kill you in. Do you understand?"
"Yes," she nods. "I understand, Little One,"
"You are absolutely out of control," Dad shakes his head. "What the f**k did they teach you at f*****g Reaper Camp?"
"Familiar binding," I try to catch my breath. "Dad, I'm sorry I yelled at you. I didn't mean that. I'm just under a lot of pressure here. It wasn't your fault. I got carried away with Grandpa. He's scary, sure but I honestly don't think he can hurt me. Even if he is a piece of s**t. He's dead and if he wants to continue being here. He has to behave. What do you think he's going to do? Turn me against you? I don't know if you've noticed, old man, but that ship has sailed,"
"You-" he shakes his head not knowing what to say. "You f*****g stabbed Chance with the spear of f*****g Lucifer. You could have killed him,"
"He left me and Stacy to die,"
"Because you refuse to give us David,"
"I'm not ready to let him go,"
"That's not up to you,"
"It is now,"
"B.B.," he growls pulling at his hair. We both turn to look at David who is standing with the others just as shocked as they are. "Look at what you f*****g did, Dave. You ruined our kid. You gave her your f*****g ugly self-righteous bullshit, motherfucker,"
"So, she's a good person. What is wrong with that?" David throws his hands in the air.
"Why don't we get the kids inside?" Mom suggests. "I was prepared for a bunch of s**t tonight, but not what just happened. I'm not sure what to make of it. So, inside. Let's get something to eat. Uh, the boys are home," she smiles but the look on her face is of absolute fear. "Okay. B.B. Del. Boys,"
"Okay," the guys all nod mindlessly as she pushes them all towards the house.
"Come on, B.B. You scared the f**k out of everyone. We need to figure out how to move past this," Dad wraps his arms around my shoulder. "Into the house. Everyone. Let's hope every supernatural thing felt that because it's going to be for f*****g every before power like that is unleashed again,"
