Eden’s pov:
Hunter had come after me in that downpour… So what? I could not understand how such a simple thing could make me ugly cry in such a manner.
But it was as if the damn had broken, and I had no choice but to let the waterfall run its course.
He patiently patted my back at first, and as I quieted down, he embraced me softly, silently telling me he was here, assuring me that he didn’t care about my shaking.
“I’m sorry,” I let out in a hoarse voice after a beat. “I don’t know what came over me…”
I tried to put some much-needed distance between us, but Hunter didn’t allow me to.
“When you agreed to be mine, did you mean it? He asked.
His voice, barely a above a whisper, all but made me shiver deliciously.
