Caden I had just hung up the phone after a frustrating conversation with Peru. We were finalizing details for getting me a surrogate —a temporary solution to my pack’s demands. The idea of it sat bitterly in my gut, and I wasn’t sure if it was the plan itself or the fact that it felt too much like settling.
