Chapter 11- The Evaluation

"Wow, all 50 examiners passed" said the host.

"50 out of 100 passed the 1st exam!!" said the host while using a "rafino", in short, a microphone.

"WHATTTTT!!!..." fuss of the people

"This test really is something"

"I know the number of examinees decreases in a short period of time."

"Like the number is cut in half" people said.

'My lady, please be alright' Anna's thoughts

"Good the faster the better" Caleb Rinaldi said...

'What, wow, Rinaldi's mindset is all about getting out of here (while I'm trying my best... I'm done :) Aline said in her mind.

A while after...

"Examiners! Attention! Now group yourself into boys and girls. We will have a separation exam... we have 28 boys and 22 girls taking the next exam." said the host.

Now, while using the rafino again, "The 2nd evaluation begins".

The boys and the girls are separated now, and are going to different rooms. The two Windsors are not with each other, they are the only ones who are siblings at the same as their age. Leon Lancaster has a younger brother, and he is 10 years younger, so the Windsor siblings were the only ones that are the same age...

"So this is your room now!! However, before the 2nd evaluation begins, wait for the lady who will be your test holder, Thank you and you may enter your room, Ladies!" the host said while winking.

While entering the room, it was full of thorns, spines, and prickles. It is also full of vines that surround the room.

'What is this, is this exam even safe? The chairs are also filled with thorns and unknown plants. If we sit, there could be some toxins that could affect our bodies ' Aline said in her mind, questioning what the test would be.

All of the girls remain standing up because of the chamber's condition... While Aline is busy thinking about what is going on... Niahm, however, inspects the room.

'Look at your surroundings, Niahm. There are many vines and spikes. The only part in this room that has no spikes is upfront. It is the desk of the Lady who we are going to wait for.' Because of Niahm's curiosity, she approached the Lady's lounge, and by surprise...

"WHAAT!!" Niahm shockingly uttered...

'This is a fortification spell, it is a defensive incantation that was supposed to be used in wars, but why do this in an exam?' Niahm's thoughts in mind.

The girls see Niahm, looking shocked and wondering in their minds what she saw or felt. That's why the others also inspect the room as Niahm did...

While Art Lambert was standing beside the door, she thought...

'Will the Lady that we are supposed to wait for will be here? Or is she just testing our patience, like the movies do??... '

'Anyway, I think Niahm just felt a defensive incantation. I don't know much about magic but, thanks to Arrie, some books, especially to Lambert's sorceress, I knew the five defensive incantations ...

The five defensive incantations are:

Mojo spells, which are very minor and really feel like defensive incantations. Because it's very noticeable when being used, many people do not use them much.

Theurgy spell is also noticeable, but the defense is much stronger.

Andonium spell, this spell is not noticeable and most commoners use it to protect themselves. It also has a strong defense and is functional to manifest.

Birolio spell, most knights like this incantation. They use it on their sword or their body. This defensive incantation is not felt really, except by some magician, sorceress or people that has full manifestation of mana. The Birolio spell can move around to protect something, but it doesn't have that big scale to protect many lives. That's why 1 to 5 people can only be protected by this. While the Mojo and Theurgy spells can only be used to protect themselves, Andonium spells are used to protect 1 to 3 people, including themselves.

Fortification spell. This spell is commonly used by a magician or a sorceress. It is used commonly in wars. To protect a large scale of groups or protect a base. This is not visible to all people that are at a distance, and not also felt by people that have low mana. If you approach a Fortification spell, you may feel it but can't see it, but if you don't grasp the sensation, the feeling will vanish. That's why many magicians use this.'

"Ladies"

"Good Day"

'Wow, 20 minutes has already passed since we went inside the room, and the lady is here. It's unbelievable. I thought they were testing our patience' Aline uttered in her mind...

"I'm Lady Sasha Ruoashe"

The lady that they were waiting for was Lady Sasha Linez Ruoashe. And she will be the holder of the 2nd evaluation.

"Test begin. Please sit on the chair my Ladies", Lady Sasha Linez Ruoashe said.

After that, there was a big uproar in all the girls'minds, until one girl asked.

"Good day Ma'am, but there were many thornes. How could we sit?"

"It's all for you to figure out" Lady Sasha said.

'What' all the girls uttered while Lady Sasha went to her lounge.

"Okay, I will go first" Niahm said...

'Because of the hint earlier which was about the Lady's lounge shows, I learned that we are supposed to use magic. Even so, this is not just a magic exam, that's why, I'm kinda curious about what Lady Lambert's action will be, after my act.

While taking a seat on the thorny chair...Niahm used her magic, a spell that was a defensive incantation but not a Fortification spell. It's a Birolio spell. It has one function of moving its defense into her body or what she needs to protect.

After a while of astonishment...

"Niahm Crestella Windsor passed the second evaluation" Lasy Sasha announced with a very enthusiastic voice.

"You may enter the 3rd exam Lady Niahm, Have a good day, and goodbye"

"Thank you Lady Sasha" Niahm said gratefully while leaving the room...

'Lady Niahm is quick. I can tell that she uses that hint in Lady Sasha's lounge. By the way, this second test is about patience and how we act if we are in a serious situation. It's good that I'm not letting my guard down. I bet they were seeing our actions in every room. Anyways, now that Niahm is not in the chamber anymore, I need to hurry', Arrie/ Aline thoughts on her mind.

Because of Niahm's earlier show off, many examiners in the chamber copy Niahm... After that...

"15 female examiners had not passed" Lady Sasha abruptly said...

'Wow, that's a quick drop out... Let's see...we are twenty-two minus fifteen equals seven, that is really quick...'

'We are six in the room because Niahm has already passed...Let's make this quick'

After that, Art had an idea: ...

A while later, without using any magic...

"I'm going to sit here" Arrie said.

Lady Sasha just smirked and said "Lady Art Zecharia Lambert has passed."

'Wow, I really had passed, and I was quite shocked about the name though, who knows that I also have a middle name :) I didn't even know it', Aline or Art said.

Let's rewind...

'There are many vines and spikes but some of them are not that bad, there are also good ones that can be used as herbals, and also not that harmful. Let's see, this one is a little bit toxic, and this one is super spiky.'

Then Lambert saw the one that was the most awful of all. And approached it.

'Wow, this looks awful, but at the same time, more safe than those I saw before. Not like the other chairs, it doesn't have an Acopolition, a poisonous tiny plant that will be found in this world. Sara and Anna always teach this to me by the way. Many people have died because they don't have awareness of the very tiny plant all over the continent. Even so, it should be the focus of the monarchy.

'Anyways, I have to sit on the chair now'

In the Present...

"Arghh I'm so tired" Art uttered

A while later, without Lambert knowing

"Lady Lambert, it's nice to see you" Niahm said, approaching Lady Lambert.

"Oh nice to see you too, Lady Windsor", Aline/Arrie responded...

'Why is the lady here...' Aline in her mind

"Well, you can call me Niahm, by the way."

'What to do? She was so open'

"But..." Art replied.

"Hmmm..."

Because of Lambert's action, Niahm suddenly dropped her expression. Because of that, Lambert suddenly agreed.

"Well... you can call me by my nickname Arrie."

"Why? I mean sorry, isn't it a little impolite when I call you by your nickname like that" Niahm responded...

"But you let me call me by your name too. Additionally, many call me Arrie when I'm at home."

"Ahh okay, it's Arrie then."

"hahahahaha" Lambert chuckles

"Huh" Niahm uttered.

"Well, this is just unexpected."

"Why?" Niahm responded.

"Because we've just met, and I am not that socially active."

"bwahahahaha, everytime lady Lambert"

Niahm responded as they chuckled together...

After a moment

"WAHHHH, I'm done"

Because of the loud voice, the two ladies were astonished.

"Who is that" Niahm and Arrie said with shocked faces...

"Hey, Niahm" Nordin Windsor said, Niahm's brother...

"Hey, are you the one with the loud voice?" Niahm said with a cold face.

"Well, I'm n-n-n-not t-the one who shouted" Nordin replied.

"You liar, I know that it's you" Niahm said with a scary face.

"Yeah I know, sorry."

"I'll let you pass cause' Lady Lambert is here" Niahm replied.

"If she is here, where is she?" Nordin responded.

'Pheww... It's good that I leave without them knowing Niahm is really scary. If I didn't even leave, I'd be the one that would stop them' Arrie's thoughts in mind.

After a short while

"Hey Arrie, why are you here" Niahm, sneaking at her...

"WAHHHHH.... I-I-I just....."

"Examiners, it's breaktime, rest awhile, and we will have 3 more tests to go" the host said brightly, while using rafino again..."

"Hey Arrie, Lets goooo" Niahm abruptly said...

"Okay", Arrie replied.

'Thank you host, you're my life savior. If I tell her that I have just left, I bet she will be more creepy :), I owe you this time'

A while after...

"Hey let's go to that table, Arrie", Niahm said.

"Okay"

'I didn't even know how we got so close to each other'

"Hey Niahm, it's breaktime, let Lady Lambert go" Nordin said...

With Niahm's sad look...

"It's okay. I mean the more the merrier" Arrie said...

After that, Niahm brightens up again...

'Nordin Windsor could also be strict with her, they were just alike' Aline in her mind.

"Okay let's eat" Niahm said...

After a moment...while Nordin Windsor is gone, chatting with the others who passed the exam...

"Hey, Lady Lambert, what way did you do to pass the second evaluation, it's not like you copied me..." Niahm said with a serious face...

'I had to know what she did. I know this will make me two-faced, but this is a good opportunity to not make Lady Lambert underestimate me' Niahm thoughts in her mind.

'So all of that is just an act? Windsors are really something...' Arrie, in her mind astonished.

"Well the thing is... I just find a chair without toxins, or much safer to sit on"

"Why, also why Lady Lambert?" Arrie said, trying to see her response...

Niahm just chuckled...

'I think Lady Lambert is genuine and has some virtues after all.'

"Nothing Arrie, I'm just happy" Niahm said enthusiastically.

While Lady Lambert was left in confusion, Arrie in her mind looking done :)

"ATTENTION, Ladies and Gentlemen. Your 3rd test will begin. Please prepare and head now to the lounge". The host said energetically.
