Part 6: Plan in motion- The engagement party.
Seven PM that night….
Maranda’s POV:
I was extremely pampered today. My hair was placed in a curled bun with hair jewellery accentuating it, with structured ringlets framing my face and cascading down my back, my nails and toes were done. I got a massage so good that the stress of Dr. Marcano’s sectional exam immediately left my body. My skin is glowing from the facial and when I looked at myself in the mirror, the radiant young lady looking back at me was almost unrecognizable. As she wore natural makeup highlighting her features. The dress however, hit the ball out of the park as it was a one shoulder pearl pink elegant gown, that cinched at the waist and flowed effortlessly to the floor. There were pearl pink roses on the waistband and rose petals leading down the slit at the front giving a tantalizing view with every step. To compliment the dress were pearl pink open toe heels with pearl embellishments on the straps, as well as a pearl pink pearl jewellery set with an iridescent stoned floral centerpiece on the bracelet and necklace. I stepped into the foyer entrance of Twilight expecting to see Darius alone waiting for me. But instead I saw him, my dad Antonio Myers, my brothers Keston, Jacob and Elias as well as my friends looking at me smiling happily. Darius came towards me in a pearl pink three piece suit to match my dress with a white shirt, grey tie and grey belt with pearl pink formal shoes to complement his ensemble. He was the epitome of perfection as he smiled down at me. He took my arm and lead me further into the foyer where the place was beautifully decorated. I saw Darius’ parents Samantha and Lorenzo Smith as they walked towards me and engulfed me in a hug, which I returned willingly, I loved his parents. The evening was running smoothly until the lights came off and only one spot on the stage was illuminated. Darius stood in the middle with a microphone to his mouth. “Can I have your attention please? I have a very important announcement to make. Maranda honey, can you please join me on stage,” he said startling me.
I made my way up on the stage and I looked at him, curious to know what was going on. “Maranda Cassandra Myers,” he began, causing my ears to perk up in interest, “you are the wind beneath my wings, the reason that I wake up in the morning, other than God of course,” this elicited a laugh from the crowd and he continued, “my motivation to keep on living and striving to be a better man, the air that fills my lungs, I love you more than the infinite galaxies.” By this time tears were streaming down my cheeks as he got down on one knee and continued, “Casy will you do me the honour of being the happiest man in the universe by becoming my wife? The bible says he that findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour with the Lord. Become that good thing for me Casy as I have found my wife in you,” he said as he opened the black velvet box to the most stunningly beautiful diamond ring that I have ever laid eyes upon. It was a rose gold ring in the shape of a rose with a pink diamond in the center surrounded by several smaller diamonds. “There is nothing that I want more in this world than to be your wife. I love you Dary,” I said as he placed the ring on my wedding finger and scooped me up for a kiss. While we were over the moon on the stage we heard a ‘bop’ sound as someone fainted.
Unknown POV:
What? No! That was supposed to be me on the stage saying yes. How could this be possible? Why, why? I should’ve stopped this. Before I knew it she swept him off of his feet and now she will be Mrs. Smith instead of me. I must stop this wedding. I am starting to feel dizzy.
Emergency Room….
Unknown POV:
“Babe, are you ok? You fainted at the party,” Brent said looking worried. “Yes, I am will you just take me home please? I want to see my bed, I am exhausted,” I replied. He agreed and I checked out and went home. When we arrived home, I was in a terrible mood and I told my boyfriend that we needed to talk.
This is the conversation that ensues between them:
Unknown: Brent, honestly the only reason for our relationship is because you are Maranda’s ex.
Brent: Well, honestly that’s good to know because you are just a rebound. I always and will always love her.
Unknown: Is that so?
Brent: Yes, it is. No, wonder you can’t even give me a child when that’s all I want from you. You are barren like the Sahara desert and no amount of water can make you fertile again.
Feeling hurt beyond measure as that is her sore spot. She can’t have children due to a botched abortion when she was fourteen as a result of her lifestyle.
Unknown: You have the smallest p***s of all my s****l partners. All this time I was faking. When you fell asleep it was me and Goliath (vibrator) in the bathroom. All this time fooling the neighbours into thinking that you can satisfy me. Your tongue works better than your tool. No wonder Maranda didn’t want it, it’s no good.
Brent: It’s not that at all, you don’t have a v****a but a swimming pool ‘gujunks’ (the sound made when you submerge something in water). I always have to be going to the doctor for hip pains because you have no grip and I fall in every time. There was even one time when I thought that my hip got dislocated.
Unknown: Why don’t you hush with your micropiggy! You are giving a new term to micromanagement.
Brent immediately tells her to get out of his house. When she tries to pick up her belongings, he tells her that he bought everything so leave it right where it is. “Can I at least get money to travel?” she asked Brent. “Go and ask Goliath for money to travel, since he brings you all the pleasure that I can’t. Oh, and by the way he stays because I bought him too,” was his reply.
Author’s Note: Will Darius’ secret admirer put a hitch in their happy ending? Who is the secret admirer? Where is she headed? Will this person take her in? Tune in next time on Perfidy’s Knife.
