The car's tires stopped with a crunching noise on the gritty asphalt as it merged into the river of vehicles flowing towards the airport's parking lot. Elara had her eyes drink from the unending scroll of the scenery from the wound up windows of where she sat—in the backseat. Ant-like figures scurried about, hauling carts and shuttling luggage to and fro. She took a deep breath and got out of the taxi, closing the door softly behind her, also fumbling with the strap of her handbag and grabbing on the handle of her suitcase, which the driver had helped her take out from the boot. Those initial two months working in Liam's company had been like rain on parched soil for Elara. The supportive workplace atmosphere also allowed her budding skills to bloom very quickly. She was learning fast.
