Diane clenched her hands around the glass of beer she was holding; her eyes were red with rage and her teeth clenched so tight they hurt. She was humiliated and made a laughingstock in front of everyone. Rydar, whom she had expected to defend her, did nothing but join them in pointing fingers at her. Liam, ugh! He grated on her last nerve. He was just everywhere! And Elara was equally always getting under her skin. Diane couldn't stand her, with that quiet confidence and subtle defiance of hers. Her pride was wounded. She downed the rest of her drink in one gulp.
