When I Was Your Woman

Racchi's whereabouts.

The next morning, Rex Jones go to Staywell Laboratory at around 6:00AM. He pretends as a patient who will have a Complete Blood Count and Random Blood Sugar counting. Upon entering the building, he can see lots of patients waiting for their turns. It's his first time going in in it's premises. Looking from the interior designs, it has a touch of classy yet comforting ambiance. With its wall paints of sage green and dusty blue, it is so soothing in the eye. The building has 10 storeys and according to it's floor directory, accounting department is at 8th. He just hopes that Racchi is still here because his client wanted the information this morning.

When it's his turn to be extracted by blood, he then ask the medtech about Racchi. "Uhmm, by the way, is Ms. Racchi Miller still working here? She is a good friend but I haven't had a contact with her since the last 6 years or haven't heard anything about her. The last time I know, she was at Accounting Department."

The medtech replied "Yes, she is still working here. She is now the manager of Accounting Department."

"Owww, that's nice. Do you know what time is her working schedule? I am planning to invite her for lunch or dinner."

"Pardon Mr. Jones but I am not sure with her schedule now. Though I haven't seen her for couple of days now. Maybe she is on a vacation."

"It's fine. Maybe she's just too busy with life and she needs a break. Anyways, thank you for the well-done extraction. I did not feel any pain".

"It's our pleasure Mr. Jones to serve you with utmost care. Thank you also for coming in here."

After his blood extraction and finding out that Racchi Miller is still at Staywell Laboratory, Rex Jones immediately go to his car and call Xander Biel.

"It's already 6:25 in the morning. What kind of investigator are you?" Xander Biel said in an angry voice.

"Hey, hey bro....It's still 6:25 but you acted as if it's already 11:59".

"So? Xander Biel ask irritatingly.

"Okay, okay. Ms. Racchi Miller is still at Staywell Laboratory. She is the manager of Accounting department and according to their floor directory, it is at 8th floor."

"Good. I'll wire you the payment now. I'll contact you again if I need additional information." then Xander ends the call.

Without another second, Xander grabs his car key. Mr. Franklin already purchased a new car for him and was delivered this morning. It is a black-colored Bentley Flying Spur.

City M is an hour away from City C. But with the speed of driving Xander does, he reaches the city in just 35 minutes.

He remembered that when they were still together, for 4 years of being together, he can count in his 10 fingers the times that he pick-up or sent Racchi to work. He was so busy studying. After graduating Bachelor of Science in Radiology, he proceeded medicine. He wanted to become the best pulmonologist. He parked there for almost an hour and half already but he hasn't seen even the shadow of the woman he came back for in Country P. He decided to go back at the afternoon and wait for Racchi during her time off from work.

On his way to City M, Xander's thoughts are full of Racchi's. How is she for the past six years? Did she really forget about me? Did she really consider me as dead now? Didn't she even think of me for some time? Is she married now? That last question made him feel suffocated. There is a pang of pain that he felt in his chest. What if she is really married now? Would he still continue to find the truth behind everything that happened before he left? Or would he just let things be. What if there is something more about everything? He is so confused and his mind is about to blow.

When he arrives home, he calls Dr. Mark Watts-one of his business partner in Well Hospital. A 45 year old surgeon whom he met during his early practice in pulmonology. Dr. Mark Watt, Dr. William Rock and Dr. Arnold Sanders are his partner in the said hospital that will have its grand opening on the 30th.

"Dr. Watts, I'm afraid I cannot come back in Country F during its grand opening. I still have some matters that I need to settle."

"Is it Xander? Then, my secretary will just send you the updates of everything. I hope you will settle whatever you are having now the soonest. We need you here."

"I will be back by next month."

After the phone call with Dr. Watts, Xander called Rex Jones.

"Hey bro. Wassup? Need my service again?"

"Meet me at Knight's Bar later at around 1:00 in the afternoon. I wanna relax for now" then ends the call.

Knight Bar. The bar owns by Simon Knight. Xander and Rex' close friends. When Xander arrives at the bar, he is being assisted by a female staff. All staffs were trained to behave well to all customers and they are not allowed to flirt with them. Xander hands his VIP card to the staff and he was being guided to their VIP room. " Will this room be fine with you sir or you need the bigger one? asks the staff. "This is fine. Is Simon Knight in his office?" Xander asks the female staff without looking at her. " Yes Sir, he is at his office right now." " Tell him I'm here. Xander Biel." "Right away Sir. I'll take your order after me telling Mr. Knight you are here."

When the staff leaves, Xander looks around. The room looks nicer now than before. It has a touch of masculinity. The wall has painting of different types of liquor yet still looks decent and entertaining. He remembered he went there twice when he was still studying medicine here in Country P. First was during Simon's 26th birthday and the second was when her Mom asked him to meet Ariella, daughter of his Mom's best friend. It was when he did not show up to their supposedly date with Racchi.
