"Yes, Madam Vice President. I completely understand your concern for the Grievers but they are a separate sect now, no longer vampire or immortal. They are our criminals just like your kind has its own. I do realize that your criminals are less likely to hurt our kinds but they have in the past and may do so in the future. All criminals are dangerous some are only more powerful than others. I can only give promise that my government is pooling all of its resources to dispatch this threat as quickly as possible." I say as confidently and convincingly as possible. I already discussed everything else on the addenda, this meeting has taken over five hours and now we are down to this, convincing this woman that we have a handle on the Griever problem and that her people. humans, aren't in danger from this becoming an ever increasing danger. "Alright, I think that this is all satisfactory now that we've over exhausted all subjects and possibilities. I am ready to sign the document now." The vice president decrees and motions with an outstretched hand for the paperwork that says the treaty will hold for another ten years. "Excellent." I say as I walk over the paperwork and a man from her secret service take it from me for her to sign. They have been leery of me ever since I walked into the building, I guess their afraid of a person that could rip out their throat with barely a notion if I wanted to. After signing the document she stood and personally walked it over to me showing me that she did not hold the same fear as her men or that she didn't want me to think that she did. "Thank you for your patience, these things must not be taken lightly. Thank you for taking this as seriously as it should." She said as she handed me the paper and then with a nod she took her leave. I would have to wait until she was at least five minutes out to even think about leaving this room, humans are so funny that way. Always worried about lives, but it doesn't matter what you are, everyone dies. Some are just harder to kill but still it could happen at the drop of a hat. No one really knows their fate. An hour and a half later we were back on Kent's private jet and on our way. DC had been cramped and over populated, but the leader of the Vampires chose to live somewhere a bit more secluded. The Rocky Mountains of South Carolina were just that. We landed in Greenville and drove to Charlotte to take an hidden underground subway to the mountain. The subway looked like one you find in New York, no one expected to find one here. Blake, Charles and Evan, who insisted on coming even though I told him it would most likely get him killed just for boarding the train, and I walked down the unassuming back steps of the old theater to find at least twenty guards waiting for us. All in black suits with ear pieces just like the secret service men did for the Vice President. No sooner had we reached the bottom step had four of them descended on us, padding us down and checking our bags for any threat they could find. "What is he doing here?" One of them asked pointing towards Evan but looking at me, it made all of the other men stop and wait for my reaction. "He is one of my guard, I trust him with my life." I said confidently. "He is not one of us, he does not belong here." The same one said firmly. Charles went to step forward but I gently placed a hand on his chest and stepped forward instead. The last this we needed was this to get messy and for some reason I in that moment I felt like a commander, a leader of my people and nothing would deter me. "He is mine to with as I please. Do you know why I am here?...I am here to ensure our existence remains untarnished by the ravages of war, and while the humans barely pose a threat the immortals do, so should we not invite one into our own home as a show of trust. So that when I go to speak with King Titan he can be told by one of his own that we mean no harm or disrespect that could lead to countless dead on both sides of the war." I command with a presence I should not know, I can feel my spark floating around my fingertips and crawling up my spine, ready to attack, ready to show dominance over any oppression. He seems to be contemplating his options but as a voice speaks up from one of the other men his choice is taken from him. "HQ says let him through." One of the other security men say and we start grabbing our bags and head towards the train. Once on board the train begins hurdling us towards our destination, it will take us some time to get there so I start to get comfortable just as Evan comes to loom over me. "Did you mean that, that you trust me with your life?" He asked quietly. "You've already saved my life, why wouldn't I trust you with it again?" It was an obvious assumption for me to make, not even a leap of think in the slightest. "And that other part, about me being yours?" He said grinning devilishly as he rubbed is leg against mine. "Down boy, I'm stressed out as it is don't make it any worse." Say shifting uncomfortably in my seat, he slowly leans down and goes to whisper in my ear but his warm breath on my neck send shivers down my spine. "I'll have to take care of that later then." He says and then saunters off, leaving me all hot and bothered. I'm really starting to hate immortals, their all the same. All smoking hot and all know just the right thing to say. ----------------------- As soon as we exited the train we were hurdled towards our rooms to get settled and freshen up or at least that's what they said they were doing. In reality they didn't want us snooping around, especially with an outsider in my group. "You will be staying in this room and your companions will be just down the hall." The woman guiding us around said and went to leave. "No, Evan will stay with me to ensure his safety." I said as I set my bag down on the couch in the living space and then turned to look at her. "Ma'am, this would not be proper. But I assure you that this entire suit is for you and your guests. No one else will be living in this space." She said, sounding a bit confused but smiled anyway. She was only a couple of years old as a vampire, you could tell she was new from the way she carried herself like a newborn trying to walk for the first time. Everything is super heightened and intense. "Thank you." Charles said as the woman started to make her retreat, after the door was closed he turned back to me. "Hey, you know you have to be carful around these people what were you think standing up to those guards and this air of authority you have but shouldn't because you are younger than ninety percent of the people in this building." He sounded pissed, thought it was a reckless thing to do. "I will not be walked over when I am the one ensuring our safety and the safety of all our species." There it was that energy sparking around my finger tips once again even though I meant Charles no harm, he was ticking me off. He was staring at me wide eyed now as if I looked insane. I ran my hand through my short hair, "I just need some rest." I said quietly, grabbed my bag and headed down the hall to the back bedroom. No sooner did the door shut had I dropped my bag and started stripping my clothes, maybe a shower would make me feel better. Thirty minutes later, I was cleaner but still on edge. I dried my body and threw on a white silk robe hanging on the back of the bathroom door and start brushing my teeth. "Ilena, I brought a piece offering. Some blood, its even warm if you like that sort of thing." I heard Evan call from the other room. "I'm in here." I call after I spit and start drying the rest of my hair. He steps into the bathroom and places two bags of blood on the counter tentatively as if they might pop or I might be startled by them. I take him in and he's only wearing a pair of jeans, his shirt and shoes had been removed and I can see all of the hard lines of his chest and stomach and even further. I bite my lip and force myself to look away. "What did you need, Evan?" I ask trying to distract myself. "Oh, my shower doesn't seem to work. Do you mind if I use yours?" He asks as he takes another step into the room and leans on the end of the counter. "Yeah, go ahead." I say absentmindedly and then try to head out of the bathroom. But he's in my way, his naked chest rising and falling, his pulse throbbing on the side of his neck, his scent wrapping around me, vanilla and fresh cut leather filling my senses. I put my hand on his chest to try and move him out of the way. But he has other plans as he wrapped his hand over mine and presses me back towards the wall. "I thought this was a bad idea." I try to say with out desperation in my tone but I'm afraid I don't achieve it. "You running around unsatisfied and stressed out is a bad idea, I can handle this kind of bad idea any day." He says grinning wickedly and kisses me softly, pushing it further into a passion only known by the wiser. My back hits the wall as his hands drift down my arms and pull at the tie of my robe, exposing my bare body to his hungry eyes. I hear him curse under his breath, "Damn." Just as he slides it over my shoulders onto the floor, his soft lips leave a trail of soft kisses down my neck and chest. My body is aching for his touch and I watch him as he reaches over and turns on the shower and closes the bathroom door. He gets on his knees in front of me, his hand caressing down my thighs as he leans in and his tongue delves in between my folds. I moan quietly and I can tell he enjoys hearing it as he delves in with even more relish and wont quit, with in moments has me so close I'm near to completion. The energy flickers around my fingers, crawling up and down my spine, begging me to let it out, pulling at me desperately to let it touch him. "I don't want to hurt you." I whisper through a moan and struggle to keep my hands to myself. "You cant hurt me." He says and intertwines his hands with mine, my electricity flowing down his arms and wrapping around his body. He moans as it caresses him and then he dives back in licking and sucking my c**t, building the pressure higher and higher until...I c*m, moaning wildly. No sooner do I come back to my senses, he's there standing over me, pulling my recovering body against his strong, contoured one. He lifts me up with one arm and pressed me against the wall, I wrap my legs around him and feel his hard length press against my warm lips. "This is such a bad idea." I hear him whisper as he stares down at me. But he doesn't understand how much I really need this, if I don't get the full release I'm craving, meeting with the vampire leader could turn deadly in an instant simply because of my bad mood or overwhelming scent. "Evan, please." I moan huskily, practically begging him. That seems to do the trick because the next thing I know he's gliding into me with a satisfactory smack of a sound, kissing my neck as he slides in and out of my soaking wetness, making me climb higher and higher. My claws dig into his shoulders and my energy glides over his hard muscles. "Fuck." He moans as I squeeze him tighter and he gently bites my neck, it only makes my need to bite him even more real and I'm almost afraid I wont be able to control myself. I feel my fangs elongate and turn my head, I try to keep myself from looking at the vein pulsing in his neck. But I can already hear its beautiful music, Thump, thump, Thump, thump. Now that I think of it I haven't eaten since he healed me after the Griever's attacked me. "Evan!" I moan loudly as he quickens his pace and my claws tear into his shoulders, undoing me as the scent of his blood seeps into the air. "Evan?" I plead questioningly, its taking everything I have to hold back. "Please." He moans as he drives in once again and grows impossibly inside of me. I don't hesitate and sink my long fangs deep in the side of his throat. Blood gushing into my mouth just as I pop into the vein. Evan moans with every pull, driving in as deep as he can with every hard thrust. I'm close as his blood flows, power flows into me, making him part of me just as I had done with Blake and Charles. I feel so strong, so...powerful. My every nerve is tingling, way down something snaps deep inside of me and suddenly I feel completely free and my eyes roll as I scream coming just as his hot seed paints my insides. I lick the wound closed and cant help but smile as he leans against me, exhausted. "Ilena? Are you in her?" I hear Charles call from inside of my room. Damn he has bad timing or great timing depending on how you look at it. I open my mouth to speak but Evan places a finger over his lips to signal for me to keep quiet. "She's otherwise engaged." Evan booms through the bathroom door. I hear Charles cursing under his breath, something abut leaving us alone for all of five minutes and I cant help but smile at his jealousy. "Fine, she's been summoned by the queen. She has ten minutes before the steward comes back, I suggest she washes your stink off before then." He calls begrudgingly and slams the door behind him as he leaves. "s**t" I curse as I detangle myself from Evans body and jump back in the shower, speedily washing as quickly as possible. "The queen? I didn't think you had one of those anymore?" Evan asks as he steps in the shower behind me. "Well its not something we tend to advertise. And why would we when no one questions when we use the word Leader, most just assume that's what we call them instead of president or king, queen." I say and jump out drying off quickly, Evan stays in the shower and I head into the bedroom and quickly get dressed in my black dress pants, a white button up, matching black blazer, five inch black pumps and Evan's fedora. To cover the bite marks I picked up a black lace necklace, its an antique, Charles had given me before we left DC on the plane. Its the only real gift I have ever accepted from him or Kent. I didn't want to play them against each other, especially since neither were my mate. No one was to be seen as I left the rooms and five minutes later I was walking into what looked like a board room. There was a long wooden table with twelve chairs sitting around it. Paintings hung on the walls, six guards stood strategically around the room. The steward ushered me in and quickly left, another look around the room had me wondering where she had come from. She stood at the other end of the table wearing a flowing cream colored gown, one that you would expect from royalty. her long brown hair fell to the floor draping her in an ancient elegance. A subtle but gorgeous crown settled upon her head and she had the most impeccable posture that I had ever seen, with her hand clasped together in front of her stomach delicately. "My Lady." I say after taking a couple of steps forward and bowing slightly. "Interesting, you look like someone I know. But that hair cut is unappealing, tell me, how did you get away from the Griever's?" She asked and took a glass of wine that was offered to her from a steward. My stomach stuck in my throat, how in the world did she know that I had been attacked. "I killed them." I said straightening and wiping the surprised look off of my face. "You killed them all by yourself?" She asked, her tone sounding like she already knew the answer. "In truth Evan saved me, I fought them but my skills were not efficient enough and I only acquired my gift after the incident." I say confidently, there's no point of shying away from the truth now that its said. "My apologies, Jonathan was one of my guards, after he changed he attacked me as well. My men should have found him sooner, I shall have to think of a reward for you." She said seeming deep in thought. "What is your gift?" She asked turning her attention back to the moment. "Um, its like I can control and create electricity. Sorry its only been a couple of days." I say looking down at my hand just as the sparks start flowing around my fingers once again. "Curiouser and curiouser." She stated and then paused, I wonder what she meant by that, but before I was able to ask she said, "My son Fritz is waiting for you, he has all of our issues concerning the treaties. Once he has decided that it is suffice I will sign it. And we should do dinner soon and bring your friend Evan, its not often that any of us can speak to a Titan with out altercations. Ah right my son, he insisted on having his office in the most secure place possible so I will have Sarah take you to him but I suggest wearing a pair of boots, its not the cleanest of places." "Thank you my lady." I said with a bow and was lead out of the room by another steward but only after the Queen left out of the opposite door. Five minutes later I'm walking back into my rooms. Blake is sitting on the couch, I can hear Charles hitting a punching bag in another room, I cant seem to locate Evan but I'm sure he's around here somewhere. Sarah had come with me back to my rooms and after I change will take me down to see Fritz. She's an older vampire, standing at about five six, long blond hair pulled back into a pony tail, deep blue eyes, beautiful really with a strong build. She looked like she was closer to being part of the security detail. Rather than of royal blood or low status, she fell in the middle like Charles does now that I think of it. "I'll be right back." I say to her and head back towards my room. Before I open the door I can hear Evan arguing with someone, when I open the door I can see him pacing back and forth while on the phone. "Fox, do you have a death wish. You cant go looking for her there, you will be caught, torchered and killed." He sits down on the end of the bed and wipes his face down with his un occupied hand. "Fine, just...be careful Fox. I better see you in a couple days." He said and hung up the phone, throwing it back on the bed and rubbing his face in frustration. "Is Fox your friend from the desert?" I ask walking over to my bags to find a pair of skinny jeans and boots. "Yes and before you ask more, you don't want to know and I don't want to compromise your situation." He said sounding worried. "Hey, I'm sure what ever he's doing that he will be fine." I said as I started changing clothes, but just my pants and shoes. When I turned back around he was still sitting there with his head in his hands. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only a pair of jogging pants hung low on his hips and water still dripped from his hair. I walked over and pushed him so he was sitting straight up and straddled his lap. I brushed my lips against sensitive skin just under his right ear and felt him shiver under me, felt his growing arousal pressing into me. Almost too easy, I thought as I grinned slightly. "Tease." He whispered huskily, I smiled and gently scraped my fangs along the pulse on his neck. He moaned softly and that was my undoing and I slowly sank my fangs into his delicate skin and then pop into the vein. Blood poured into my mouth, making him moan loudly. I wouldn't be able to take too much since I had so recently taken from him, but how could I deny him a pleasure so sweet. I let my energy go, letting it course over his body intensifying his pleasure. "Ilena, ah, f**k!" He moaned. I gently removed my fangs and licked the wound closed but no sooner was it healed, did he flip me onto my back, he pressed his full length against me through my jeans and ripped my shirt open as he surprised me with a bruising kiss. "Evan." I said as I gently pushed him up but only after indulging in him for a moment. "I have to go someone is waiting for me." I said apologetically. "Damn." He said and dropped his head to rest on my chest. "You cant be serious." He said pleadingly but he already knew the answer. "I know but its about the treaty terms, I have to go." I said and he rolled off of me and onto the other side of the bed. "Fine, but were finishing this later." He said promisingly, oh how I wished it was already later. With a heavy sigh I got up and buttoned my shirt finding it no worse for wear and finally made it back into the living room where Charles was talking very closely with Sarah. "Yes, did I miss something?" I asked walking up to them. "Just getting acquainted." He called to me but then redirected his attention back to her, "We should get together later and get to know each other." He said. "I'll come by after I'm done." She said in a flirty tone with a sexy smile, well I guess that just happened. I headed out of the door and she followed close behind. "So are you just flirting or is it serious and before you ask normally it would not be any of my business but he is my friend and more, so what ever happens between you two I'm going to know about it because he is an intricate part of my life and no I'm not jealous and wont be getting in between you either." I stated as she lead me into the elevator. "It's more serious, I think we may be mates." She said sounding all business and the opposite of the flirtatious girl I saw only moments ago. "Oh good, he's been waiting a long time for you if its true." I said smiling, this is definitely a good thing. twenty minutes later, we had only gone down four flights on the elevator and then we walked the rest of the way across the compound, now we stood in an under developed part of the mountain. Sarah started walking down a skinny, concrete staircase, dirt covered the walls and everything seemed wet, it only got worse the farther down we went. Once we reached the bottom there was at least three inches of water covering the floor but as we walked further in the floor seemed to slope and we moved out of the water quickly as we moved down a narrow hallway, just like the staircase and into a larger room. Torches light the room and preceding hallway, two doors are on either side of us, Sarah knocks on the second one on the right. "Who's there?" A small voice calls from the other side of the door. "It's Sarah, the Queen has sent down the treaty negotiator to meet with you." She called back and then after a contemplative moment, the door clicked four times and then creaked open. "Hello Sarah and...?" He asked looking down at me, though it was not from his height, he couldn't have been more than five, five. No, his floor was at least five inches above the dirt floor I currently stood on. He was a small guy and you could definitely tell he was more of a techy not a fighter. He had short brown hair and a goatee, wore a polo shirt, jeans and slippers. "Ilena, It's nice to meet you Fritz." I say holding out my hand but he looks at it like its an alien notion. "Come on, we have a lot of work to get done." He says eyeing me suspiciously and ushers me inside. "Good luck, call me if you need me?" She calls and then disappears just before Fritz closes the door and locks it once again. Inside you would never be able to tell we were in the pits of the Rocky's, its the size of a small apartment, with lush furnishings filling the place. Unfortunately the luxury is diluted by the fact that there is paperwork in piles all over the room, strewn about haphazardly. "Sit and we'll get started." Fritz said as he brought over a stack of papers and sat at a desk near the couch, oh this was going to be a ball and I was going to need all the luck I could get, if I wanted to get out of this place before dawn.
