Two weeks went by and left me daunting as I'm queued up on the departure line, trying to get my plane ticket checked along with my baggage and some other stuffs I will be needing within a week or two before Mr. Venice sends in my remaining boxes containing what I will be needing all through my college days at Pennsylvania.
Mr. Venice had wanted to keep up with my family house bill, which was pretty much skyrocketing all in the name of wanting me to keep the memories I once had there, but then I don't see myself coming back to California anytime soon. After being able to convince him that I was going to go along with the remaining stuff left after donating most of what my relatives had left behind to the orphanage home down the street where I had always parked my car to keep wary of my greedy relatives.
What was left were about three or four boxes left which I will have to put up in the apartment Mr. Venice had gifted me. It had meant a lot to me, for it was going to save me from apartment expenses, and I will be able to generate more money from leasing the other room, which I won't be occupying.
After getting checked and having my bags weighed, I proceeded to sit at the departure gate where we still had about a few minutes left before we departed from California to Pennsylvania. I had already begun to miss Veronica. Over the recent time, we had gotten so close to each other that you could have assumed we were having a mother and son moment.
I brought out my earphones to plug into my mobile when the speaker screeched with a reverberating sound. "Departures from California to Pennsylvania in the next two minutes. Please kindly walk to the aircraft while the hostess guides you on what to do next."
"Well, I guess this is the part where I say goodbye to California," taking out my mini camera my mom had gifted me when I turned sixteen, I took some random shots to fill up my album in California.
"Please do ensure you switch off all mobile, better still having it on the flight mode to avoid air turbulence, for the safety of you, I, and the rest onboard." With a curt nod, she walked back into the cockpit, not after reminding us on how important it was to make use of our seat belt while the Aircraft sped on the runway before taking off. With a last click of my camera on the remains of California, I plugged in my earphones, leaving my favorite playlist on repeat.
Four hours later, we had just landed at the Pennsylvania airport where we all strolled out of the airplane to the arrival terminal where we waited for our luggage after being checked in and all tickets checked.
I quickly called Venice and Veronica, informing them of my arrival to Pennsylvania at the moment, needing a cab to take me to the apartment, but Veronica had told me that I already had someone waiting for me outside the airport gates. Well, I had gotten used to their random but also stunning surprises. I had just walked out of the gate when I looked up to see a petite brunette with a card which read "Simon from The Vees". I knew it was her, before I could walk up to her, she already did, collecting my luggage loading into the car trunk.
"When you are done staring, can you get into the car, for we still have a journey ahead of us?" she said.
"Oh my, I'm sorry, I was just surprised. I'd never been pampered this way by any stranger before. I mean, like all this is new to me," I said.
"Well, I get to pamper all my clients so my paycheck gets bulky, you know?" she replied.
"Yeah sure," I said, walking round the car into the seat next to the driver's
Four hours later...
I got startled from my sleep when I had a weird dream of a deer coming at me. I shook it off, got out of bed, and took a quick shower. Afterward, I decided to go for a quick walk around the woods, but then I remembered I had seen a car parked outside. I hurried outside to attend to whoever it was, but there was no one there. Instead, there was a letter that read, "Don't drink and drive, stay safe Son, From the Vees." I smiled, realizing that I had transportation into the woods.
