Something Different

All the elders that were on top of the mountain were watching the events on the hidden formation screens that were both above the forest and the marble road. They were paying very close attention to many persons as they go along their way, even though they had given two hours of time to arrive at the top of the mountain, which would signify that they have passed the first part of the exam which is the movement ability test. The time limit was only a mental goal set in place by the elders for the young and hot-blooded martial artists, even if the time ran out and the examination has ended, if in the test you had performed well and showed some form or level of understanding in the movement field, then you will be considered as passing the first test of movements.

"I wonder how many feathers we have to go"

"I can't believe it's so far up. My god, I don't think we're going to make it up there in time"

"Even if we can't make it up there in time, let's use this opportunity to own our skills guys"

On the marble, the road could be seen by three young martial artists with fairly decent latent talents rushing up the mountain. Their speed wasn't that good but it was that bad either, all in all, it was just acceptable. In the group, there were two girls and one young man and they were also of the commoner faction as well. The young man and one one of the young woman's cultivation were at the 6th level of the saint Realm while the other female being at the 7th.

Many hidden obstacles could be found on both the marble road and in the forest. Between the two, there wasn't a safer path among the two which would enable the martial artists to make it up the mountain in a much faster time. By now, some of the young martial artists had also come to that conclusion, if they hadn't, it wouldn't make sense that they had practice cultivation upon till now.

WOOSH

As the three young martial artists were conversing among themselves, a blue blur suddenly shot past them within the blink of an eye. It was so fast that the three persons were left without any time to react at all, even as they watch the blue blur make its way feather up the marble road, they were still somewhat lost and inwardly shaken by what had just happened. After a few breaths of time, one of the girls that were in the group shouted out!

"My heavens did you see that big sis. That person or thing is so fast" as she shouted, her two eyes were well rounded as if she had seen a heavenly defying act on that blue blur's part. She was the only one to fully come to her senses thus that showed how quick her reacting to the things around her was, it was also at this time that her fellow brother and big sis finally came to their senses as well and stared in shock at the disappearing blue blur off in the distance on the marble road.

The awe in their eyes only grew feather when they thought about the type of movement skill a person would need to pull off such a fast speed and not to mention the comprehension ability of the said person to practice in that kind of movement skill. "This world is truly bigger than the three of us" chuckled the young man in the group of three, on his face could be seen a will to push feather along the path and as such, that was what they did.

As the blue blur made it's way up the mountain, Jia Lin too also made his way up but at a much slower speed than before. As of this moment, only 20% of strength remained inside of his body and all else was sent out to activate the art of Slice, the path before him was cleared completely, there were no trees to be seen going up into a straight line up the mountain on his side, thus no obstacles would also be in his way either. Too many martial artists, to have 20% of battle powers remaining after sending out on attack to them would be a fatal thing to do, this was because if they were in a situation where they were fighting against more than one enemies and were to release that kind of attack and it failed to kill everyone then that person would most likely lose his life after dropping down to 20% of battle powers.

His speed would be cut, the strength of his martial skills would be greatly reduced, thus giving one's opponent a much greater opportunity to strick. But that's only given the situation, and as for the one that Jia Lin was in right now, that type of energy conservation wasn't needed in this movement test but would surely be needed when it came time for the strength and combat tests.

"Third elder, what do you have to say about the boy's abilities now" headmaster Qin Long turn to one of the old women that were standing behind him who had previously and openly disdain Jia Lin. Her eyes were still glued to the monitor screen that was in front of her, and after hearing the head master's question, she was somewhat left in deep shock. This wasn't a shock of Jia Lin's overwhelming abilities at his young age, after all, many geniuses with impressive latent talents would be revealed to the world between the ages of 12-17, thus she could accept that.

But what she couldn't accept was that this unforeseen genius had shown up in the time of her nephew's time of joining the martial school and he was currently taking the examination now as well. It wasn't that she lacked faith in her nephew but this unforeseen dark horse would be on the obstacle in his way and would probably also block his path to becoming a blazing sun.

"He can pass for now. But he's already running out of strength, how can he participate in the following upcoming tests. His decision to use 80% of his strength wasn't a wise thing to do this one can easily tell that this boy is truly short-sighted" even though the elderly woman found Jia Lin's overwhelmingly shocking, she still found an opening to put a few setbacks on his part. "Is that so" replied the headmaster with a frown, afterward he didn't bother to comment any feather because he knew that doing so would only be a waste of time and that starting from this day onwards, things between Jia Lin and this over arrogant elder won't be heading in a positive direction.

"I can't believe none of them had taken notice of me yet. These old bags of Bones are so...." Before Jia Lin could even finish his sentence, the air before him twisted as if it wanted to fall apart. Jia Lin's eyes flickered as he sensed strong energy insulation coming from within the twisting air and in the space of a single breath of time on old man walked out of thin air smiling at him. Jia Lin was somewhat taken aback when he saw that the person who had approached him was the green robe elder who had changed the examination rules earlier.

He had been hoping for something like this to happen but he never would've thought that it would be this green robe elder that come to pick him up. During his ascension of the mountain, Jia Lin had hoped or should I say, bet on a possibility that if he showed what he could do then probably he might get a chance to skip all these child play testings of abilities and would just come directly to pick him up. But during that time, he thought that if his plan did work, more than likely it would be one of the lesser-known elders that would come and not this old man before him.

"Greetings elder" he bowed to the old man showing his respects. The green robe old man only smiled at him as if he was looking at his own prise. "Your quite talented aren't you" he chuckled loudly while walking towards Jia Lin, "Tell me, did you put on a show in hopes that we might see you thus be able to bypass the examination"

After the green robe elder had spoken, Jia Lin was truly shocked, who would've thought that this elder had seen right through his plan from the beginning and had just placed it on the table before him just like that. An awkward look came across Jia Lin's face as he smiled back at the elder and said "Junior only wished to make things move a little faster for junior" he commented with a shy smile. Seeing this only made the old man smile, even more, he then waved his hand without saying anything and as he did, the air around Jia Lin's body suddenly started to twist with a strange suction force and to Jia Lin's surprise, he thought 

"Formation transportation. No wait this is different"
