1504 Words
Jia Lin and little Demon entered through me mists door and a world of mists were presented before them. The world that was composed of mists was not that big and the only thing that could be seen as a mountain that was made out of large amounts of mists. The ground was mists as well as the air, Jia Lin and little Demon was stunned and shocked at the same time. "I've traveled to many world's in my time but this... This is something else" commented Jia Lin as he looked down on his feet that were standing on mists. "such a wired place" he murmured while looking up at the mountain before him "little Demon, do you think we should go up the mountain" asked Jia Lin, "Growl" that was the only response he got from little Demon who stood panted beside him. "I'll take that as yes then" One man, one beast walked through the lands of mists together, Jia Lin's mind was calm but at the same time, his guard was as high as it could ever be. After a few minutes of walk towards the mountain, Jia Lin suddenly started to feel extremely exhausted, his forehead drip with sweat even his clothes began to get wet from all the sweating that he had done. Jia Lin's eyes kept looking forward with only one thought in mind and that was to get to the mountain, the mists world was as quiet as a graveyard late in the night. No sounds could be heard, no birds, no wind, not even the footsteps of Jia Lin and little Demon. Jia Lin's body continues to sweat as he came to a sudden stop, he was exhausted, completely exhausted. His breath came in huge draws and his mind span with fatigue, "how comes I'm so tired" ask Jia Lin to little Demon who was standing beside him. As he looked down, shocked filled his mind because little Demon was also wet from head to toe as well, he was surprised at the turns of events that were happening. "what is happening here" He thought while cleaning the sweat off his face. He then looked up at the mountain as shock once again filled him, the mountain that he was walking towards for half on hour now was much feather away than when he had started walking towards it in the first place. Jia Lin was at a loss for words. The mists that made up the ground, sky, and mountain continue to sway about! "That guy Lin Fen said that this place will first test the mind, then the body and lastly the soul. I wonder if the test as already began" pondered Jia Lin as a confused look flashed across his face. "This is a test, it's definitely a test," he thought to himself as he looked back at the mists mountain. "Very good young one and here I was thinking you would never figure it out" said a voice that was filled with profound ancientness. The minute the voice sounded out, the world of the mists surge with power as if it was finally awakened from a long and deep sleep. Jia Lin remained where he was as he continued to look off into the distance, the voice then sounded out once more "This is the mists trial grounds where one comes in search of a great martial path. Over the years many had come but only a few passed but unfortunately the true path they were not given" the voice followed up as the mists surge and rolled about. Hearing what it had just said, made Jia Lin somewhat confused as he asked "What do you mean by, they weren't given the true path" he questioned "As one knows, there are many paths to travel when on the road of martial cultivation thus every martial practitioner has his/her own path to follow. The path we choose from is sometimes not up to us but faith itself, so thus the true path of this trial they were not given" said the voice. A flash of understanding rushed into Jia Lin's mind as the confusion slowly faded away to be replaced by a bright light, "I am my own way, my own path. When do we being" Jia Lin was the type of person who would never back down no matter what the situation but if one really thinks like that then, for how long could one live for. The Mist trial grounds tested three parts of a person, which is the mind, body, and soul. How the trial grounds go about doing so, well Jia Lin was soon to find out. "In this world, how one thinks and acts, can both be advantageous or disadvantageous to one's self. One's mind must always keep calm and collected, it must be focus no matter what the situation, his/her mind should be like a mountain, unshakable" stated the voice as it sounded out in the mists world which caused a wired expression to be birthed on Jia Lin's face. "Calm haha I'm always calm and collected. This first trial will be easy" he said while smiling "Very well then, the both of you may being" at the last words of the voice, roaring sounds filled the mists world as it began to shake intensely. The land began to froze and the air flowed with chilling cold Qi that could kill at any moment. Jia Lin's mind shot to action as he thought of what to do in this kind of situation, lite Demon howled as its body was struck by an ice wall that came out of nowhere. The wall appeared and disappeared within the blink of an eye, only one word could be used to describe it and that was fast. Jia Lin's mind was filled with roaring sounds, he didn't have Layna any more so he could use yin Qi energy to protect or defend himself. As of this moment, he had to rely on his own strength of the six saint realm to get through this. Jia Lin dashed backward in retreat as a large are battle chopped down from above, the ax was huge and was made out of mists, one would think that the ax would just pass right through Jia Lin's body but the shocking site that he was left with made him trembled in fear. Though he managed to dodge the battle-ax, he was still injured. His left arm dripped with blood as he looked at the disappearing battle-ax, "What the hell is this" he thought while looking over at little Demon who was constantly being beaten by six wolves that looked exactly like him in every way possible. Jia Lin watched on with wide eyes as he dashed over to help when suddenly 'Bang' He was kicked in the chest by four figures that looked like himself. The strength of these four clones was three times that of his own which once again left him shocked and flabbergasted at the same time. "how is this possible, I can't beat these things" shouted Jia Lin as if someone was there to hear him. After a few breaths of realizing that no one was there to answer, Jia Lin's mind went numb and cold sweat instantly broke out on his young face. "I just had to go and say that this would be easy. Ugh I'm such on i***t" cried Jia Lin as he raised his hands to block an incoming kick from the front and right side. One must say that Jia Lin was a warrior of the domain but that was not the case right now, as of this moment his body was weak and his skills in this world were limited. Two figures, one at the front and one at the right, their battle powers tripped that of Jia Lin's as he attempted to block the incoming attacks 'Bang' 'Bang' Jia Lin's body was sent flying due to the powerful strength of the two attacks, even his best wasn't good enough to defend against four clones that had his strength plus tripped that of his own. "Hahaha" shouted Jia Lin as he activated his Tai Chi martial arts, every bone and muscle in his body was put to use, he slowly rotated to the body sending a kicking flying outwards while using his fists to attack two figures that were at his back. The Mists swayed and surge as Jia Lin fought back and forth none stop, the four figures that he was fighting dodged his attacks with easy as they too rotated their bodies while activating the Art of Tai Chi Jia Lin was standing on solid ice as he tried his best to keep his footing. The air was freezing cold with yin Qi energy coupled with the fact that he was already exhausted, to begin with. His body ached all over due to the unending attacks of the four veils of mist clones who endlessly pushed him back, little Demon was also trapped in his own battle but with six wolves, unlike Jia Lin who had only four.
