We are now here in our history classroom, waiting for our professor. It just occurred to me that everyone here in A1 is one of His Majesty's chosen. The day went on until the headmistress entered the room. "Hello, everyone," the headmistress greeted us. "Is everything fine with you all?" Everyone nodded in response. "So, as I mentioned on the stage earlier, most of you are His Majesty's chosen, and because of that, you are all rivals. We will be having a monthly rank based on your performance. The one with the lowest rank will be removed from the selection list." "How about us?" Princess Mary asked. "You are included, Princess Mary. The Barons, Knights, Lords, and Princes are not included, but all of you are tasked to rank up in combat!" Everyone seemed okay with what the headmistress said. That afternoon, Casidy and I were going to the dance studio for our lesson when we saw Lady Reila with some of the nobles heading there as well. "Hey, you two," someone said behind us. We turned around and saw Princess Mary. "Hello, Princess Mary," Lady Casidy greeted. "Hello, Princess," I said and did a curtsy. "You two are the chosen ones?" She asked. "Not me," Lady Casidy replied. "Oh, just you?" She said. I nodded."I hate this game. It's too boring for me," she said, rolling her eyes. "I don't want to participate in this, so you better get to the finale," the Princess said to me. "I don't like Magnus; he's an ass!" she said Casidy and I looked each other. We went inside the dance studio. Everyone was busy talking to each other. Lady Casidy and Princess Mary were still deep in conversation. They were so talkative! And help—I don't know how to dance! Why do they want us to dance? The choreographer arrived and instructed us to find a partner.Even here, we need to socialize! I don't know who would want to be my partner. I saw Baron Czar walk toward Lady Casidy, and she happily accepted his invitation. The Princess also found her partner, but here I was, standing alone. "Lady Sera, you don't have a partner. Why not be my partner here at the front?" the choreographer said. Really? Me? The one who doesn't even know how to dance! Though it was completely against my will, I knew I had no choice but to step forward. The choreographer clapped her hands. "We'll start with the Waltz. It’s a simple, elegant dance. Since you all know the basic steps, we’ll just be adding a few new variations, okay?" she explained. We began with the simple steps, and I was actually doing quite well—until we reached the fifth step. A moment later, the choreographer called for a break. Princess Mary collapsed onto a nearby chair. "Argh! My feet hurt!" she groaned. Lady Casidy rushed over, curiosity clear in her voice. "Why? What happened?" "That Zael," Princess Mary fumed, "I know he intentionally stepped on my foot!" "I just hope I can switch partners," she added, rubbing her toes dramatically. "Oh, that's..." Lady Casidy trailed off, clearly unsure how to respond to the accusation. We finished our dance lessons and proceeded to the Etiquette class. I couldn't help but wonder why we still needed this. After all, every single one of us came from a noble family and already knew the proper etiquette. Lady Casidy sighed lazily, "What are we going to learn now?" Princess Mary groaned, "I'm tired. Is this some new etiquette we don't know, or is it just the same old thing?" The professor swept into the room."Hello everyone," she began. "As you see, most of you have been chosen by His Majesty, and all of you—" she paused for emphasis—"are girls." A sudden realization hit me: she was right. Every single student here right now was female. "This specific class is just for you. You are here to learn and train yourselves to become future Crown Princesses," she stated firmly. We were all listening intently to her. "The etiquette of a noble is vastly different from the etiquette of a Crown Princess," she emphasized. "You all must constantly think of yourselves as a Crown Princess so you can perform your duties well." "Everyone, stand up and form a line!" she commanded. Her gaze immediately fell on the first student. "You, Lady Agatha! Your posture is terrible. Don't do that!" She then performed a mocking mimicry of Lady Agatha's slump. Lady Agatha quickly tried to correct her posture, but to the professor, it was still insufficient. "Go stand by the wall, Lady Agatha." The professor then turned her attention to the rest of the nobles. "Pull your stomach in slightly, Lady Davone," she instructed. "Lady Reila, that is not a proper posture either!" Finally, she let out a frustrated sigh. "How can you all be so bad at your posture? How can any of you expect to be a Crown Princess?". "All of you, to the wall now!" she roared. "I didn't realize the posture of nobles was this pathetic," she sneered. "Put your hands up! Do not lower them until I tell you to." We immediately obeyed her instruction. In less than five minutes, I felt a pins-and-needles numbness creeping into my arms It seemed everyone was suffering. I heard a chorus of groans:"Are we not done yet?" someone whispered. "My arms hurt! I can't feel my hands!" "I'm starting to get dizzy..." An hour of practicing proper posture left me completely drained. I swear my spirit was trying to escape my body. All I could think about was collapsing into my bed. My whole body felt sore and heavy! This isn't a subject; it's cruel and unusual torture! Despite the pain, we still had to head to the auditorium for our next activity. Lady Casidy and Princess Mary kindly offered to walk with me. Lady Casidy and Princess Mary kindly offered to walk with me."Good luck in there, Lady Sera," Casidy cheered faintly.
