A loud banging on the door startled them, and Alex jumped back with a guilty look on her face. Jill’s face was flushed, and she had an unfocused look in her eyes. “We should answer the door,” Alex stammered. She shook her head a couple times as if trying to clear her mind. “I need to go freshen up.” Jill hurried from the room. Alex took a deep breath before opening the door, not knowing whether Sarah and Michelle had the world’s worst timing or the best. When Jill emerged several minutes later, she felt nearly composed. She still had a slight flush in her cheeks, but thought Alex would be the only one that noticed. Michelle immediately went to her, raving about her outfit.
