Sarah pulled up to where Alex was standing and popped the trunk. Alex tossed her suitcase in, jumped into the car, and said, “Damn, that was easy. Why did I bother parking and going in when I picked you guys up?”
“Probably because we weren’t on a time crunch. Hopefully the traffic isn’t bad or we’ll be cutting it close.”
“It’s only quarter till four. We’ll be fine. The limo doesn’t pick us up until six.”
“We’ll be lucky to get to your place by four-thirty. Then we still have to get ready.”
“What’s up with you? Are you upset with me?”
“What do you think?”
“Hey, I’m sorry. I was just being stupid. I know running away isn’t the answer, but it somehow seemed like the easiest solution.”
“If you do it, it’ll be the biggest mistake in your life.”
“I know that. We don’t need to talk about
