Falling asleep, I had a dream I was in the northern territories of Canada surrounded by Tundra wolves. Why is this happening? Are they gonna kill me?! Suddenly I see the largest wolf approaching me. He was pitch black like the night sky. I wasn't scared but before he could say anything I woke up.
"What was that about?" I asked myself as I sat up in bed.
'Maybe something we should do, we are getting married tomorrow you know' Scarlet hissed at me. I sighed thinking back to the large black wolf from my dream, a knock at the door pulls me from my thoughts.
I look towards the door as it opens to my brother and Rose standing there. I ran over and hugged my brother as a few tears escaped my eyes.
"What do I do big brother?" I sobbed into his chest as Rose rubbed my back. "I cant just run away from it."
"Don't worry girl, we will think of something just don't do anything drastic that's all," Rose told me waving her finger.
I smiled at her and waved goodbye as they leave my room. I headed to my bathroom to wash up and get changed into a deep red dress with black flats on it. I quickly brushed my hair and walked out of my room to a smaller dining hall just for the chief, his family and close friends.
I see my father talking with Roland so I decide to sit at the opposite end of the table with Rose and Drake.
My father looked up at me puzzled to why I'd sit so far away from my husband to be. Without even looking at them, I grabbed a plate and began to put our chef's famous blueberry pancakes on one after another till I had 5. As I started eating, my father cleared his throat but I ignore him not wanting to interact with him right then and there.
"Look at me when your Chief address you young lady!!" Father commanded.
I look up at him with a scowl on my face as he glares back at me.
"Come sit over here now. That is an order," he growled.
I continued eating my food while staring at my father with annoyance and anger. Drake and Rose ignored the stare down me and father were having till my brother waves a hand in front of my face. I looked at him as he signs the words 'Ignore father, I'll deal with him later.'
"Drake!" Father shouted, Drake turned to him with a blank expression on his face.
'Yes father?' He signed.
Father just glared at him then sighed, "never mind son," Father groaned rubbing his forehead. Drake
smiled at me triumphant.
Throughout the day, I avoided my father and Roland to the best of my ability. I walked to Rose's room and knocked on it. It was past 10 p.m and I'd usually be asleep by now but I cant even calm down enough to even lay down.
"Who is it?" She mocked me as I rolled my eyes.
"You know very well who it is dummy. May I come in please?" I asked.
The door opened to my brother standing there, he had a bit of lipstick on his mouth so I didn't need to even ask what they were doing as I smiled up at him.
"Having fun bro?" I giggled as he blushed wiping his mouth.
"Can't sleep?" Rose questioned, I nodded.
"To much going on up here," I said pointing to my head.
"That's understandable," she agreed.
Then there was a knock at the door and the smell of alcohol hit our noses like a brick wall as it leaked through the door.
"I know you're in there, Sapphire," the man behind the door hissed and I knew who it was; Roland.
He started pounding on the door as my brother stood in front of me ready to fight the jackass if he had to.
"Go away, Roland!" Rose shouted at the door.
"Not till you give me my bride!" He growled making me tremble as I backed up to the window.
"Like hell we will, asshole!" She yelled.
The door started shaking and splitting open from him repeatedly hitting the door. I turned around and opened the window. Knowing it was two stories down, I trusted Scarlet to land us safely. Rose was about to grab me, but I jumped before she could, shifting mid air letting her take over and landing on her paws she started to run. We could hear shouting from the room, but didn't stop because Roland was after one thing; me.
We had run so far we were now beyond our territory's borders. We could hear two people coming behind us which made us run faster.
Scarlet might be a strong leopard but we aren't trained in combat. We wouldn't last in a fight so we would try and avoid conflicts the best we could.
We came to a stop at a large ravine and looked frantically for a way to cross it. Spotting a fallen tree stretching over the ravine, we ran and climbed onto it. Getting across as fast as possible without looking down was hard but we did it just in time to see two of Roland's elite warriors coming out of the tree line. We knocked the tree into the ravine and continue to run.
-end of flash back-
So here we are lost in the northern Canadian territory's, tired, hungry, scared, and cold. I can't believe we actually ran away from home. It almost doesn't feel real. We looked up at the sunset. We had been moving since yesterday night, but we can't stop now. We have to keep going. We see a large forest ahead of us. Aside from the snowy landscape, its the first forest we've seen since leaving Alaska, and a bad storm about to roll in as well. We head into the forest as the snow starts to fall.
'We need to find somewhere to wait out the storm, Scarlet,' I tell her through the link.
'No we must keep going. Don't you remember our dream?' She asked and I nodded as we kept going further into the forest. It was very dark out but we could see fine even though this blizzard made it nearly impossible to see even in the dense forest. We couldn't see a tree until it was right in front of us. We bumped into a few trees trying to navigate through the forest until we were out of energy. We sat there shivering, it was so cold I think we have icicles all over our body, we cant even feel our tail anymore but still try to keep moving it to keep blood moving, then we hear howls of a tundra wolf meaning we made it to their territory, but would they be as nice as they were in our dream or would they kill us? We didn't have to wait long until a large group of them surrounded us. Some were growling while others stared at us confused as to why a were-leopard would be in their territory. There are some male and female mix of warriors all in various colours from white to dark brown, some even were blond and some mixed colours like a fine marble.
We try moving but our body is too cold and tired to respond to us. That's when we see him; the big black wolf from our dream, his fur was shaggy but looked soft to the touch and his eyes where like an ember: orange and red dance through them like fire. He had a large scare on his left eye but didnt seem to bother him much, someone must have use a silver knife on him other wise it wouldnt still be there. He walked up to us and looks down at our crystal blue eyes. He shifted into his human form and put a hand to our cheek. It's so warm and there are sparks as we lean into his hand. Scarlet gives me full control again and we shift back into human form. As my vision fades, the man in front of me picks me up in his arms and says something I've always wanted to hear.
"Mate," he says as I pass out in his warm arms.
-Unknown POV-
This beautiful girl that has passed out in my arms is my mate I never thought I would ever get to say that. I've waited four years for this woman and I finally had a dream about her though nothing can compare to the real thing.
I picked her up in my arms and mind link my bata Theo, 'make preparations right away we found her.' I commanded
'Yes alpha Damien, right away.' Theo mind linked back.
I quickly brought her to a nearby cave with the warriors I had brought with me to find her. The cave was one we would use often during blizzards like this. It was a bit damp but we did our best to keep it free of large and dangerous animals. We had brought pelts from previous hunts here in case we needed them to sleep on or to cover ourselves. They all bowed their heads as I walked past them. Setting my mate down carefully, I grabbed a pair of pants and a shirt to cover myself and my mate while someone else started a fire to warm her up.
There was growling coming from the entrance of the cave and saw two men arguing with my mine. I walked over and glared down at the two intruders on my territory.
"And what can I do for you two?" I growled.
"Give back the girl now!" The one with short dark brown hair yelled at me, I grabbed him by this throat with my hand, snarling. Like hell I'll give them my mate, I glared at the cowering man in my grip.
"She is mine and your tribe doesn't need to worry about her anymore. I'll take good care of MY mate," I huffed dropping the man who was in shock.
"Mate?! No this can't be. Roland is gonna kill us if he finds out she found her mate and that it's a Tundra wolf of all creatures!" The man on the ground screamed. He shifted forms and ran away with his partner behind him.
I walked back in, sitting beside my mate and pulling her into my lap to warm her close to my body. A few minutes later, Theo mind links me that he's outside with everything we need to transport my mate to the pack house. I pick her up and carry her outside to the sleigh we would use during heavy snow fall. I wrap her in a thick black bear hide and sit down with her on my lap and signaled the team to take us home.
'Lets bring our Luna home,' I commanded through the link.
'Yes alpha!' They all responded back as they started to pull the sleigh toward the pack house.
