Chapter Three: You're a what now?

I quietly followed Dara as we made our way into the different shops that lined the strip. I honestly didn't really like any of the clothes he was showing me, but he did so I just smiled and nodded. I learned a long time ago that if I did that then things would go alot better for me. I couldn't tell him. I couldn't tell him I don't want to be married or even in a relationship. My heart had a strange pain at that thought. Like I didn't really mean what I just thought. But what if he snaps? What if he hurts me just like Jay did and then love bomb me to make me stay. I would just wait until I got my five grand and then I would bolt. I would vanish just like I did last time. I saw Dara stiffen and I froze. I started to painc when he started looking around and then turned to me. I didn't even realise that I had instinctively flinched and braced for the slap or punch that would come next. But it didn't. Instead I was wrapped into his strong arms and he pulled me close. I was rigid. Still not sure what was going to happen next. "Sarah." He called my name and made me look at him. "You're safe with me ok? No one will ever hurt you if I can help it. You, Are, Safe." I teared up. No one had ever said that to me and I truely wanted to believe him, but I didn't. I couldn't. "We can trust him. He's not like the others I warned you about." My inner voice said. "This one is ours and we are his." I seriously needed to go see my shrink again. This voice was getting out of hand and it was starting to scare me. Dara looked at me with a puzzled gaze. It was almost like he had heard what was going on in my head. "You know about Immortals right?" He asked out of the blue. I nodded. "Do you know about wolves and Lykans?" I nodded again."I love animals but wolves are my favorite though." I blurted out then immediately lowered my eyes and once again waited for a slap that never came. I was terrified and could no longer hide it. “Ok. I wanted to tell you this later but I kind of have no choice given your fear scent is stinking up the place." He said as he visibly gagged. I was offended. I have great hygiene and here he was telling me I stink. "No love. You don’t stink. Your fear does." My fear? I started slowly backing away and he took a step back with his hands up to show he’s not a threat. "I’m a Lykan." "You're a what now?" I asked. "I'm a Lykan and you are my mate." Ok, this guy was seven kinds of crazy but if he was telling the truth, then that meant I really could trust him. He would be incapable of hurting me. That also explains why he didn't want a divorce and he didn't want to marry that other woman. Still though. "Prove it." I said. My back hit a wall and I was a bit more scared until I saw his eyes turn from hazel to a dazzling gold. His beast had taken over and soon he was standing just inches away from me. I found myself staring directly into his eyes. Normally this would be considered a challenge. But to him it was acceptance. He was so close I could feel the warmth of his breath. "Wryker." I said as he laced his fingers with mine. How did I know that name? "That's not important right now my little mate. What is, is that I'm not Jay, I'm not Mason either. I am not any of the men who have hurt you. Dara and I are yours. We belong to you." The sheer amount of love in their eyes made me shiver. But how did they know any of this? What was going on? I found myself sniffing him. He smelled like fresh cut grass after a spring rain. He smelled like home. He made a soft growling sound that resembled a pur when I...wait. I SNIFFED him?? What the hell was wrong with me? “Nothing is wrong with you. We are perfect.” “Shut up! You aren’t real” I shouted at my inner voice and shook my head. When I opened my eyes again, Wryker was staring at me with shock. "Sarah, Look at your eyes and you aren’t crazy." He whispered to me. "Look." I slowly turned to look into the mirror that was hanging on the wall. I gasped and almost screamed when I saw my eyes were bright purple. I paniked more and I bolted out of the store only the have all my senses assaulted. I crouched down and covered my ears. This was all to much. Dara ran out to me and I could tell it was him and not his beast. He held me, and looked just as confused as I was. "Settle love." He said as he held me close. "What's happening to me?" I cried. Before he could answer, his phone rang. "Yes?" "She's a Wolfram." "Wolfram? I thought those were just a myth." "No. They are very much real. Their numbers are just very low. They're up there with the more rare breeds we almost never see. But She's a red one to be exact. Again extremely rare." "I don't understand." He said as he petted my head. "Red Wolframs are so rare that even immortals that have lived for millenia have never seen one. That's why so many believe them to be a myth. They're a demonic breed. That's yet another reason they're so uncommon." "Ah. Yea that makes sense. Even now we don't really get along." "But I know someone who has seen them. And they aren't lying about it either." There was a pause before Ivan continued and I scooted closer so I could hear. "Her father was the Alpha of his pack. The person I know.... is the only other survivor of the..." He trailed off. But Dara knew. "The what." I demanded. "Shh." He corrected me. "He mated with her mother who was the green witch. That's why she has such a strong pull to nature. She was born for pack life." So this inner voice?.. "Yes dinggle dorf. I'm your wolf." With that, I fainted. "Well that was a bit dramatic." A voice said in the distance. "Yes, yes. This way dear." I made my way down a long corridor with numbered doors. I opened one only to see me on my 10th birthday. My parents died three days later. I stepped back out into the hallway and closed the door. I had a feeling I wasn't going to like this. "That's it. A little farther now." I followed the voice to another door and opened it into my darkened living room. I looked over at the digital clock on the wall and froze when I saw the date. June 3rd. This is the night my parents died. I turned to leave when the door slammed shut and locked. "Don't run from this. Our truth lies in this memory." I sighed. With no other choice, I walked up the stairs. I made my way to my old bedroom and opened the door. We were all cuddled up on my bed. "I couldn't sleep that night." I said as I saw my past self petting a giant ruby red wolf with horns that was curled up by my bed. "Papa." I said in unison with my 10 year old self. The wolf nuzzled me and my mother pulled me closer. "Something's wrong." I whispered. The bedroom door burst suddenly burst open to reveal men in full riot gear. "How did I forget this?" I asked the voice. "Mother made us forget." I watched as my mother slipped into the closet and placed her hand over my eyes. "Sleep my baby." Mother had placed a sleeping spell on me and then dropped me down the laundry shoot before running to aid my father. I turned and ran down to the basement. I had just popped my head out of the clothes and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. The house was quiet and I could only assume hours had passed. There was no sound. I looked around dazed and afraid. "Mama!?" Nothing. I cried out louder. "Papa!?" I listened for any sound but there was none. I crawled out of the laundry pile and made my way up the basement stairs when the door suddenly opened and I was blinded by a flash light. "There's a pup!" A familiar voice called out. It was Ebony. She scooped me up and craddle me close. Then Cass and Sandy appeared. They were there too. That's why they're so close and protective over me. And they were the ones who told me my parents had passed. "We are wolf-kin Sarah." The voice said. I walked out of my house and stepped into an open meadow lit up by a bright full moon. A deep crimson red wolf with shiny black horns approached me. "My name is Shirah. I am your wolf and the other half of your soul. We are complete now." I scratched the center of her forehead and she purred like a kitten. "And it seems we now have a pack of our own." I smiled and let Shirah nuzzle my cheek. She then touched her head to mine and I woke up with a start. I was in a white room, hooked up to monitors, surrounded by strangers. "Where am I?" Dara shot out of his chair to help me sit up more and gave me a sip of water. "My..... Our pack's hospital. You fainted and have been out for an entire week." I hissed in a breath as thoughts began ringing out in my head. Everyones worried thoughts bombarded me and gave me a massive migraine. "Settle... I'm alright. Go about your day and don't worry about me." I said through the mind link. Everyone was surprised but I could feel the wave of calmness that swept through the area. I sighed in releif while rubbing my temples. "You used the link." Dara said in shock. I could also see the pride in his eyes. He was happy I was naturally bonded to the pack already. Then I heard his wolf chime in through the link. "It was her wolf. My Shirah reminded her of who she is and now we must help our mates regain their strength and learn how to be a wolf." I patted Dara's head and cooed. "Your right Wryker. And I can hear your thoughts as well. I can hear everyones wolf. Shirah wasted no time establishing dominance over the others and making her claim to you." I replied. The mind link was now a calm and soothing channel of white noise and I gently exerted my aura out around me. I mixed in some magic to expand it to the border. "What did you just do?" Dara asked as he and the beta shared a look. "I mixed my Alpha aura with magic so that it would reach the border. Now I'll know if anyone passes into our territory and everyone here, knows I'm the Luna. Not some common she wolf." Dara smiled. He could tell I would settle in just fine. Shirah was already busy taking roll on everyones wolf and getting to know who would be trouble. She was a natural leader and I was happy she was my wolf. Things were finally looking up for me and I was happy.
