Chapter two

Kimberly's POV With something similar to herculean strength, I dragged my sleepy self out of bed and lazily strolled from my room to my front door. Someone had been knocking non-stop for over thirty minutes and even though I had sworn I wasn't going to answer, I couldn't bare the noise any longer. When I reached the door, I furiously pulled it open ready to haul words at the unwanted intruder. But the second I saw the towering strange man, I lost my voice. Without any invitation from me, the big intruder sauntered into my home like he owned the place, " Excuse me, who the hell are you?. What gave you the right to barge in like that?," I asked, feeling my blood already boiling from his audacity. " For someone bold enough to commit such an elaborate heist, you surely are lousy when it comes to hiding." he vaguely said, ignoring my own questions like they weren't important. " What?," no one on earth could have been more confused than I was, " Is this some kind of joke?. I am going to call the police." I threatened, hoping that that would work. It was stupid of me to have just opened the door without checking to see who it was. My threats didn't even bother him. I noticed his whiskey brown eyes scan the breath of my apartment like he was looking at a rathole. It made me want to punch him so badly. " I assure you, if the police get here you'd be the one in handcuffs." he confidently spouted. " You are the one in my house. I am sure I know where the law stands." I fired back with a much bigger confidence, " So now get the hell out before things get pretty bad for you." He smiled like what I had said was amusing. Then his eyes narrowed on me," Tell me one thing, Kimmy cat. Is that the way you talk to the man who you stole six hundred thousand from and also forced into marrying you?" Instantly, my mouth instantly went dry. Only I person ever called me that name. But that wasn't what scared me the most. It was the six hundred thousand he said I stole that made me froze. Particularly the part where he said the money was his and I had married him. The hacker had told me that a temporary marriage certificate would be forged to make the transaction successful. He had said that the document would be invalid after two hours. And after that, nothing could be traced back to me. But now, things doesn't look like it. Aaron's POV I saw her face turn pale like she had seen a ghost and it made me almost laugh. " The look on your face tells me you didn't know I was the one you were stealing from." I shook my head with a mocking smile, " For someone who was the smartass in school, you sure are acting dumb. " She smirked, " You were the dumb one, remember,?" Yes, I remembered. It had happened years ago, but the memories were still fresh in my head. Still, I wasn't about to let her gloat, " But in the end, look at what I turned out to be. The billionaire you'd stoop so low to steal from." I bragged. She stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. The Kimberly I knew would have fired another smart mouth thing to counter what I had said. But she didn't, " What do you want?," she asked me. " We have a situation here and we need a solution." " You want me to pay you back?. I will. But I don't have the money right now." " Off course you don't." I nodded, " But the money is not the problem. And I am not here to collect my money back or punish you for stealing from me . In fact, I am going to be punishing myself because we would be staying married untill I want otherwise." I saw a glitter of hope sparkle in her eyes, but the second I said the last part it disappeared " Never!!!." she yelled at the top of her voice, " Look, I don't know what you stand to gain from us staying married, but I'd rather die than be called your wife. I will pay you every cent I took from you even if I have sell my organ." " Oh, darling Kimmy cat, the feeling is mutual." " Don't you ever call me that, you bastard!!," Just like I remembered, feisty only when she wanted to be. I knew it wasn't going to be easy convincing her. Not after what happened between the two of us. But with only two hours left and her being my only remaining option, I came very prepared, " Listen, the way I see it, you have no choice. Even if you paid me back, you still committed a crime. That's like fifteen years If I used second tier lawyers. As a billionaire, you know I definitely would used whoever is above first tier" I paused to let my threat sink in, "Look, you are the one that put yourself in this situation. So don't take me as the devil here. I am only trying to find an amicable solution to our problem." " Amicable solution?," she scoffed, " Or a solution that favors you?" " You are debt free and married to a billionaire. What woman on earth would say this doesn't favor her?," " Me." I saw the pure hatred in her eyes as she glared at me. " I would rather die than be your wife." " Darling," I called her, and just like the time I said Kimmy cat, her face turned red with rage. Weirdly, it made me feel pleased. Just like old times, " Thanks to you, we are already married. And you are still alive. So I am sure you can manage. " When I noticed her shoulders fall slightly in defeat, I immediately pounced. If she was still the same girl from childhood, I knew giving her time to recover was deadly. " Dipping my hand into my pocket, I pulled out my phone and dialed Hank. " Alright, bring the papers in." " What papers?. What are they for?," " Nothing serious, " I shrugged, and then moved closer to a couch and settled, "We would be agreeing the terms of marriage. Like what would be the do's and the don't's."
