ARIA’S POV
“What do you mean all the animals are dead?” His question was demanding an explanation more than it was demanding an answer.
“We have reasons to believe it has something to do with the body they ingested yesterday,” Ragner explained.
“Nicolle’s body,” I chipped in under my breath. Ragner nodded, “Do you think maybe she was really innocent and she is just fighting for justice?” I probed.
“Nonsense!” Draven slammed the table. “She took her own life. No one killed her.”
“True, but what if…” the dreadful look in his eyes was my cue to stop talking and I did not push my limits.
“Is there anything left of her?” Draven asked Ragner. He nodded affirmatively. “Save the rest of it. Let’s find out what is going on,”
“Yes sir,” Ragner walked out of the room. I took a deep breath. The
