Chapter 7 – Shifting StonesSnow crunched beneath her feet. What lay before her were untouched mounds of freshly fallen snow. Its softness had built up on the trunks of trees and left blankets on their branches. Twinkling ice particles made it look like stars during sunlight. It was deep, which made her inner child tremble with excitement. The air was a bit chilly but was more of an autumn breeze than the winter wind. The sweat built up in her clothes, making them sticky and damp. She decided to take off her coat and, soon after, her sweater. She found it still warm and removed her mittens, scarf and toque. She smiled and twirled around, lifting a whirlwind of white. Out of all the fear and terror her life had become, she deserved a bit of play time. She ran over and fell into the snow. S
