Chapter 9: Dark Side

"What? " Esmia furiously asked as news arrived at her office unexpectedly. She looked at the knights she trusted and the Lord she allowed to become Yubin's playmate.

"We apologize, my Queen, the knights were out of that time because we shifted, however, the squad that is supposed to watch them afar went on his way the time the miss was messing. We searched the area since Lord Finn called us, we will take any punishment for losing sight of the lady miss." They said bowing themselves on the ground but Esmia's calm figure suddenly made them feared her more.

Not only because Esmia's was furious, but Louise is also extremely unhappy with the news, his aura is covered with fear and his eyes want to blow someone's head.

Before Esmia could take the commands, Louise's frustration didn't save them at all. He draw his sword and pointed at them, making his presence more visible like a King that made his people feared him.

"F-find her now! And bring her back unscratched or you including you a Lord's Son will offer their head to there King." While the matters of Yubin disappearance went overload on the Knights Headquarters and the entire palace, will go back to a little hour ago.

3 hours ago, the boy that was caught this morning was jailed deep inside the palace walls. He looked at the stone cuffs they used to chain him until to the bars of his jail, he looked rather worried because not only the chains are tough but the chains seem to be made as magic resistance as if he's not a human.

A clang of doors has echoed through the dungeon's floor, footsteps and then voices suddenly appeared. The boy in the cell was about to act as if he was asleep to avoid them getting him impatient.

The voices suddenly appeared in front of him. "My prince, captain Cortez, are you awake? " The whispers echoed the boy hr called Prince, or rather Cortez as a Captain.

The man in front of Cortez was his comrades who fleed after he orders them to take a few millimeters away from them.

Cortez was filled with hope once more, he immediately opened his eyes and looked at the person outside his jail. What he saw was his favorite second in command, Ramirez the person who helped him on his crazy journey.

"Ramirez!? How did you get here? " He asked Ramirez, and the young man smiled pointing out his arms.

"I know things Captain, I've been on living on West for 1 year as a spy, I've undercover dungeons as a rare guard and of course I also know how to remove that chain on you." He smiled making Cortez smile paler, this is of course Ramirez knew how to make people laugh snd Cortez seem to have been filled with hope to escape.

"Bastard! Take this thing off me." Cortez mumbles, Ramirez nodded saying 'yes captain'.

He unlocked the jail doors using keys that he stole, after that he entered. Ramirez went to Cortez to observe the chains in his hands.

"These are anti-magic silver chains meant to use on magicians like you. Magicians are rare but also they are few so this is made to chain the people with magic under their palm. This was put by a magician that only magician can remove it, however, the flows are unbearable, because it can also be removed by a key, a key is a temporary removal when the magician responsible for putting it on to someone is not in sight or they have died." A special key appeared in Cortez's eyes, the key is diamond and it is different from other keys that he has seen, however, he recognized this from books.

This is the -replica- key of the anti-magic chains, the one specially made for it. Seem's like Ramirez has stolen it too, they might be looking for the key that was stolen.

The key did not need a keyhole, instead, it only touch the chains and it removed by itself. When all of the keys were removed, Cortez looked at his hand waist. The marks on his small hands seem to be painful but that is nothing compared to the teaching of his father.

"Captain, we have to go. I will take the lead so follow me, there are guards around the palace dungeons and many more at the gate. To escape from the palace, will be using the horse to and I will signal a distraction then we will use that opportunity to escape." Ramirez has been one of the rare guards at the palace dungeon, though he was also a spy sent by Cortez.

To Ramirez knew this place is that because he has been working as a guard on Castaline for almost a year since the declaration of East Alliance was reformed.

As soon as they left the jail, both of them took turns avoiding any guards that is walking or passing by them. The dungeon of the palace has 2 floors, because criminals or people being jailed out of rule-breaking or so, are being punished by the executioner, they will be held prisoner at the Fortress Carabin, famous jail dungeons for criminals on Castaline.

The Castaline only allowed execution if needed a prior but people that are criminal under low or high sins will be sentenced to jail, you'll be lucky if that is the case cause when you will be sentenced to death, life is over for you.

However, harming Royalties or Nobles may lead to quick executions.

As soon as the two reach the horse cabin, Ramirez took Two horse, one is that of brown and two is that of gray. The rod the horse, left the cabin and went hiding in the trees, they observed the flow of guards walking and they stole matches to burn the trees in order for them to be distracted, it is a diversion.

This is the princess palace, however, there is no such princess yet but Yubin was living in here. The princess palace has few guards guarding the place, few at the entrance of the princess palace entering a forest, because the princess palace exit lay's the way through the capitals fortress, to leave this place, they must take the path to the capital which is filled with knights, unlike guards they are hard to deal with.

"Okey, this should make them work there assess off on killing the fire. We should take that bet to leave," Ramirez mumbled making Cortez nodded. He can't seem to find his words, not because he is speechless but rather because he felt useless as a prince.

He let himself get captured, he knew that no disappointment has ever been born in the Katsuki Kingdom. He was born to win not to... Lose... He has shamed himself for not being the kind of prince his father has expected.

Ever since he was 7, they taught him well enough until he reach the age of 11 where he was known as a prodigal son. He made his highest anticipation on the academy he went too, won many battles.

At age 14, he was earlier exposed to war, killing people and spying on other people. He was perfect but recently his father wants nothing, he seems to have forgotten the conquer against the West, his uninterested making him the target of the East Alliance.

To save his fathers incompetence, he had made a contract with the person responsible of this Alliance they created. He promised information of the West in exchange for leaving his father away, he promises that when he inherits his throne as the emperor or the king, he will be allied with them again making the alliance stronger once more.

This all happen for his promise, he ended up being sent as spy, a 15 year old kid was sent as a spy and to send information of the West. Cortez clinched and called his father a coward.

He was denying the fact, stepping out on his bound, looking at his fault, and once again blame his father. Cortez had not known the reason why his father did not join the alliance, he does not also know why they are doing this conquer over other's land. That is because Cortez is still a kid and he must learn more and enough to assist his well-being.

As soon as the fire broke through, both of them hide miles away from the fire creating a way to make it bigger. When the fire was high enough to burn the trees, men in silver plated armor has noticed it notifying the others to help kill the fire, a panic made the guards unable to talk instead they went to the nearest river near the horse cabin and throw it through the fire but it never end.

When all the guards were distracted, Cortez and Ramirez immediately took their horse running away from the trees, and soon they found the gate with no people guarding it.

Ramirez and Cortez made their way through, unfortunately, arrow strucked the horse of Ramirez and their guards appeared around the bushes.

"Ramirez," Cortez yelled at him as he stood up from falling off the horse that was shot.

"No wonder, Ramirez, I never trusted you since you come to this kingdom. To think your a spy is unexpected, and letting a prisoner go is such a crime." That voice, Cortez looked at the owner of that voice and what made him chock was the man who arrested him in front of him.

"Tsk, so the Guard s**t is here." Ramirez looked at Cortez and he glare at him back.

"Your highness, you must return safe and sound." He whispered so that people will not able to hear him speak.

"What about you? " He asked.

"There's no much time left, the prince must survive!" Cortez looked at him hesitance, he don't wanna leave him so Cortez was to refuse but Ramirez determination made him, a prince obey.

He nodded leaving Ramirez and his sword at the palace entrance. Cortez gripped the saddle of the horse, he looked the way through the capital clenching his teeth.

He didn't expect this to have happen out of his control, to the point that he wanted to cry. Cortez leave with anger and rage but he can't do anything about it, he looks ahead yet his head is in control of his body. He didn't have time with Ramirez, but Ramirez was his favorite bodyguard.

Ramirez and Cortez had a wonderful relationship just like a brother, they are two that are sometimes inseparable.

Cortez wiped his eye's enduring the pain, damn that bastard! He pronounces on his head cursing Ramirez from his suicidal idea.

While he was getting nearer to the capital, he heard a horse's footsteps. This was when he thought that the enemy is trying to capture him, it would be difficult to go with this situation so he decided to stay low on the Capital finding his way through the exit.

"Find him!" Someone shouted at his back so he immediately forced the horse to run faster than his current speed.

"Sir! His on his way through the capitals wall!" He didn't realize that they are miles at his back, he moved his horse to take another path through the capital to wiggle those that is chasing over him.

After a while he reached the capital, leaving his horse and hide before he run away.

While he was running off the dark alleyways, Yubin was caught off guard. A men in mask grabbed her hands, leaving through the dark alleyways and when Finn followed her, she was not found insight.

"Damn, she's resisting!" The man that abducted her said, helding Yubin's hand who keeps on pushing them away.

They covered her mouth so she won't dare to shout, Yubin felt distorted and her tears suddenly felt.

She was scared, she was helpless and the system that should be helping her was not found.

She wanna shout but she can't, wet eyes tell her that she needed help. She gripped her hands but she was unable to move, those guys didn't leave her at be, they kept her at leash so if she ever run when her hands is untied, the leash will kill her.

Yubin cried, she cried and wishes for someone, anyone to find her. She tried getting away but it's useless.

Until suddenly, it was unexpected.

A boy runs in their direction, he seems to be running away from someone too, he seems confused yet he looked at them, those guys and the little kid.

He was shocked.
