Change her fate

Valerie’s pov After some moments of crying and comfort, I finally understood what was going on. I went back in time, 5 years back, before I got married to Evan, that scum. I sat at the dinning table sipping some tea, still trying to understand what is happening. How was this even possible? Was it all just a dream? But the pain and heartache I felt were too real to be anything but reality. Glancing up at the clock on the wall, I realized that today was the day when everything went wrong. It was the day Evan proposed to me, unknowingly setting into motion a chain of events that would lead to my misery. I finished gulping down my tea. My mom told me my dad has already gone to work so I was relieved. This isn’t a dream at all, its real. Both my parents and my dog is alive. “Mum, I am heading out” I shouted for her to hear from the kitchen. “Already? You haven’t finished your meal” my mom said worriedly as she stepped out of the kitchen. “I am fine mum” I said and gave her a peck. “just have some unfinished business” I said and went back to my room. *** As I was having my bath, I began to think of what to do. I have been given a second chance and I won’t waste it one bit. I will make sure they suffer for everything they put me through. But I need a plan, I can’t do this alone, and its not as if I can tell my parents that I came from the future, they are already worried enough. I stepped out of the bathroom dripping wet and covered my self with the towel. How will I start my revenge plan, rejecting Evan’s proposal won’t be enough, and knowing Cathrina, she won’t stop until she finally destroys me. I propped on the bed and switched on the expensive tv. “Today, the Tech global industries CEO would be retiring, and a new CEO will be in seat” the anchor in the television said. Tech global. I know that industry, 5 years later it would become one of the most powerful industry in the whole countryAs I glanced at the TV, I saw a swarm of paparazzi gathered outside the company's entrance, awaiting the chairman's exit. Suddenly, a realization struck me. I quickly got ready, grabbing a lightweight, pastel-colored blouse and a knee-length skirt from my dresser. I paired them with loafers, spritzed on some perfume, and rushed out of my room. On the dining table, I spotted a packed lunch bag with a thoughtful note from Mom: "Make sure to take it, love." I smiled, feeling grateful, and grabbed the bag along with the car keys. I went to the garage and drove the car out. Wondering why I am rushing out? If I want to secure my safety and that of my family, I can’t do it alone. I sped on the speed limit on the road, my heart thumping against my chest. I have got to meet him before its too late. Thirty minutes later, I am at the Tech global industries building. I went to the parking lot in front and packed the car. I stepped and I gazed up at the imposing structure before me. The modern company building stood tall and sleek, exuding modernity and sophistication. Its polished gray granite base gleamed in the morning light, while the upper floors' sleek glass curtain wall seemed to shimmer with a subtle blue hue, reflecting the sky and surrounding cityscape. The building's contemporary design boasted clean lines, sharp angles, and curved corners, creating a dynamic visual effect. Rising 20 stories high, each floor slightly recessed, forming a series of stepped terraces. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer scale and grandeur. My eyes drifted to the main entrance, a dramatic glass-and-steel atrium recessed beneath a cantilevered roofline. Automatic sliding doors framed by sleek, silver handles welcomed visitors, while the company's logo - a stylized letterform in bold, silver font - hovered proudly above. The perimeter landscaping added a touch of serenity, with lush greenery and native plants spilling onto the sidewalk. I took in a deep breath and walked through the sleek, automatic sliding doors and into the expansive lobby. The interior design echoed the building's modern aesthetic, with polished marble floors, crisp white walls, and a soaring ceiling. Natural light poured in through the glass atrium above, illuminating the space. I spotted a designated visitor area, tastefully furnished with a pair of plush armchairs and a sleek, low-slung coffee table. A discreetly placed side table held a pitcher of fresh water, glasses, and a selection of gourmet magazines. I settled into one of the armchairs, smoothing my skirt and taking a moment to collect my thoughts. The room's ambiance was calm and professional, with soft background music and the faint scent of freshly brewed coffee. As I waited, a friendly-looking worker came to me, carrying a warm smile. "Hi there! Are you here for something?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with hospitality. I returned her smile. "I'm fine. I'm just waiting for someone." The woman nodded, her expression understanding. "Okay, no problem. If you need anything at all, just let me know." With a courteous nod, she retreated, leaving me to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. I took a deep breath, letting my gaze wander out the window, where the city skyline sparkled in the morning light. Five minutes haven’t passed and I heard the elevator ding, I turned and saw the man I was looking for. Logan Flynn. As he walked, I couldn't help but be struck by his chiseled perfection. His hair, a rich, dark brown, was perfectly tousled, with subtle waves that framed his angular face. His eyes, a piercing blue, sparkled with intelligence and warmth, drawing me in like a magnet. His nose was straight and proportional, leading elegantly to his full, sensual lips, which were set in a firm, unyielding line. His mouth, a masterwork of masculine beauty, was a stark contrast to the chill in his eyes. His physique was breathtaking – broad shoulders, chiseled chest, and lean hips, all honed to perfection. He stood tall, his confident stride devouring the distance. Every step radiated authority, as if he owned the space around him. His tailored business suit, a stunning charcoal gray, accentuated his powerful build. The fabric hugged his shoulders, showcasing the breadth of his chest, while the slim-cut trousers highlighted his long legs. A crisp white shirt, buttoned at the collar, added to his aura of control. His presence was commanding, intimidating even. He was the kind of man who walked into a room and owned it, effortlessly. Yet, his cold demeanor seemed to push everyone away, including me. And then, our eyes met for just a moment, and I was lost. I gathered all the confidence within me as I stood up and went to approach him but was stopped by his body guard. “Sir, I would like to speak to you, its urgent” I said to Logan but he blatantly ignored me. Such a jerk. I swallowed back my annoyance; I really need his help. He stepped out of the building and my thought began racing, I need to get his attention, but how? I followed them outside and shouted. “Your uncle plans to be the next CEO, doesn't he?” I said. The handsome man stopped on his tracked and turned to look at me. My body became stiff, I don’t know if it was because of what I said or because of his cold eyes staring deep into me. He walked towards me, his aura deadly “what did you just say?” he said and I gulped.
