"Dude, that was awesome!" Aaron exclaimed while hitting my back. Currently we were playing real paper toss. We were just crumpling paper and tossing it in the trash-can beside the teacher's desk. There were some students in the class and there was a lot of time before the class started so to make the time pass by faster, we began to waste paper by crumpling it up and throwing it in the trash-can. "I know right, I'm awesome. Praise me more." I extended my arms out in a victorious stance while Aaron laughed at me. Hitting me on the arm playfully, he went to pick up the paper balls that didn’t get to go inside the trash-can. We were in English class and I knew Sarah had this class too. But she hadn’t arrived yet which was weird because I had noticed through out the week how she always came early to her classes. "Hey, Jack. " I heard someone from beside which made me turn in my seat to see Miranda sitting on the seat beside mine. "Hi. What a pleasant surprise meeting you here." Aaron said with his voice full of sarcasm which made me chuckle, while Miranda gave him a bored look. "Yeah, but I'm sorry I don't find it pleasing to see you here." Miranda shot back which made me laugh at how Aaron squinted his eyes at the girl. For a minute, I just watched their playful banter as they dissed each other. "Okay, you guys can stop now. Clearly, you both don't like seeing each other. I get it. So, let's just shake hands and be civilized human beings." I sighed out after being bored from their dissing, as I pointed towards both of them. They huffed but actually did what I told them to do. Wow, I think I just stopped World War 3. "So, tell me Miranda, what are you doing here?" Aaron asked Miranda with a smirk that made me give him a waring stare. "I am officially going to start taking this class from now on because Jack also has this class." I gulped when Miranda gave me a flirtatious look. Looking at Aaron as a call to help, I was gravely disappointed since he just smirked at me. The teacher came in the class which was the help I got from the universe and I thanked God for this wonderful favor. Sarah didn't take this class today which was weird, since Aaron had told me that she never really skipped classes. Later during class, I found out that Miranda always skipped this class, and now she’s gonna take them because I also have this class. This whole situation was awkward for me since I didn’t really like Miranda that way. The class was just about to end, Aaron and I were watching the clock on the wall, since we wanted to get out of this hell hole as soon as possible. Seriously, it was torture listening to the teacher talk. Although I loved the subject but just watching him talk in English made me want to speak Spanish. Yep, he was that bad. I don't even know how he got this job, and I don't even want to know how. When the bell rang, I stood up from my seat and watched Aaron and Miranda get up from their respective seats as well. We walked out of the class and, Miranda and I wanted to go to the bathroom. Well, Miranda wanted to go. She just wanted me to tag along which was not what I had chosen to do, but was forced to do. So, Miranda and I made our way towards the bathroom with minimal conversation because I had no idea what to talk to her about. I didn't even know that the whole way to the bathroom, Aaron was following us. But when we reached the bathroom and he stopped just outside of it, I gave him a questioning stare, "Hey Aaron do you wanna go to the little men's room while we wait?" It took some time for Aaron to understand what I had meant while I snickered at him. Total tube light. But when he did, he started to walk somewhere else, away from the bathroom and I could even see the slight blush on his cheeks which was an amusement in itself. Miranda went to the bathroom while I waited outside. As I was waiting for Miranda, I saw Sarah coming from the corner. She had her eyes fixed on a book in her hands as she walked, and I just watched how extremely adorable she looked with concentration on her face. She was walking and I didn’t even know from where this guy came from and bumped into Sarah but I did know he did that on purpose. That cheap-ass. Sarah's book fell from her hands and she was about to fall herself when this guy grabbed her from her waist. I just watched with my mouth open as he touched her and here, I was that got slapped for complimenting her underwear. Well, I still deserved that slap though. I knew for a fact that I was jealous at how he balanced her on her feet, and it didn’t make things any better when Sarah blushed. Only I have the right to make her blush. No, you don’t. She isn’t your property. Who is this guy even, I wondered as I ignored that crappy voice in my head? Why did he purposefully bump into Sarah? What are his intentions? I had questions piling up into my brain and I didn't have an answer to any of them. Sarah's POV: I didn't take English class today and I really regretted it. Not just because I knew that Miranda was in that class and I knew she just wouldn't stay away from Jack. But also, because I missed a whole lecture and my perfect attendance won’t be so perfect anymore. You’re first reason was still about Miranda and how she wouldn’t stay away from Jack. Wow, priorities, huh. I'm acting like a possessive girlfriend, I know. Wait, I'm not possessive. And I just ignored the girlfriend part. I’m also forgetting that I’m not her girlfriend either. And now I’m fighting with my brain. Real cool, Sarah. I was just walking towards the bathroom, while reading this novel I had started just last night when out of nowhere, Brad bumped into me. What is up with people and bumping into me? I was about to fall when he grabbed me by my waist and this heat just rushed to my face. Brad was the captain of the basketball team and well he has this crush on me and he always asks me out. I just always say no to him but he is one determined guy. "Hi, Sarah." Brad spoke while helping me straighten up. "Could you please watch where you're going?" Seriously, this guy doesn’t know the meaning of rejection and I know that he bumped into me on purpose, just so he could talk to me and I wouldn’t ignore him just like I usually do. "I’m sorry I couldn't watch where I was going. Who would, after seeing you?" I squinted my eyes at his attempt at flirting with me. "So, Sarah, are you free tonight?" As I was saying, this guy doesn't know when to give up. "No, I am not and even if I was, I would never go out with you, Brad. Why can't you understand that I just don't like you that way." I spoke coming right to the point, skipping a few steps that just consisted of me telling him that I’m not free and then he asks me out on another day, and then I say I’m not free then as well. It was all a really long cycle. I didn’t know why but I felt like someone was watching me. When I turned around to look over at the bathrooms, I saw her. Jack. Maybe she was just wondering who I was talking to. "Aw, come on Sarah just go with me once. Just one date. please." Brad said grabbing all of my attention now. "No Brad. If you don't have anything important to say now, I will be going now, bye." My eyes trailed from Brad to Jack, who wasn’t staring at me anymore as I left Brad to go over to her. I didn’t know why but she kept looking at Brad the whole time. It was pretty weird. Maybe she was just jealous that he was so close to me. No way that can't be. When I had reached Jack, Miranda came out of the bathroom and hooked arms with Jack. Seriously, why can't she stop being touchy feely. It's really annoying. "Oh, Sarah, hi! Where were you?" Miranda gave me a friendly smile while I gave her a fake one. I felt bad for treating my friend like that but I guess being jealous had those effects on someone. "I was in the library." Burying myself in books. "Oh okay. But why didn’t you take English? Aaron, Jack and I had a great time in English. Right, Jack?" A great time? Were they in class or on a picnic? "Yeah." jack said still looking past me. She was not making eye contact with me. "Hey, Sarah, do you know who that guy was?" Jack asked after a little while and honestly, I wasn’t that surprised by her question as I mentally smirked. So, she was just wondering about Brad. Maybe she was jealous. This should be fun. "Who Brad? He’s just a guy who has this huge crush on me." This should be really fun. "Oh. Um, I don't want to pry but what were you talking about?" Jack asked while looking away from me, but from her sour expression I could tell that she really didn’t want to know what I had to say. "Oh, nothing really, he was just asking me out." "So, what did you say?" Looks like someone is extremely jealous. I smirked at the question. "I told him I’d think about it." I replied coolly, while still cringing at how I had just lied. "Okay. Let’s go, Miranda, we have class right now." Jack spoke, this time turning to Miranda and looking her in the eyes, not like how she talked to me, without even looking at me properly. "Okay, bye, Sarah" Miranda said waving at me and Jack just started walking away without saying anything more to me. It’s going to be fun watching how things turn out. ................................. Jack's POV: "It was like she knew I was jealous, but she still wanted to play along with the mystery game. I'm telling you this Brian guy is a competition. And I am not gonna be on the sidelines watching Brent sweeping Sarah off her feet." Right now, I was talking to Aaron. I already had told him everything that happened and right now we were outside the gym waiting for Adam. I came with Aaron to the gym to play basketball. He asked me to join and I just didn’t see the harm in it. I had already played basketball in my previous school and believe me, I was awesome. "Okay, Jack, calm down. Take deep breaths. In and Out. Exhale and inhale." Aaron spoke while motioning with his hands how to breathe. I just copied his actions and calmed down. I admit I got worked up there. “Now listen. First of all, his name is Brad. Do you know you changed his name twice, in just a single sentence?” He stated making me laugh. Well I did do that and that wasn’t on purpose. "Now, second of all, maybe she is just making you jealous. Brad has a crush on Sarah, correct. But Sarah always says no. So, what makes you think she'll say yes this time?" Aaron stated all the points before finishing with a question. "Maybe to make me jealous." I spoke with uncertainty. "Shut up she wouldn't do that because she already knows you're whipped." "Seriously, Aaron. Seriously." Our little talk was interrupted when Adam jumped on both of our shoulders from behind like a child. "Hey guys. Whatcha' talking about?" Aaron and I started to walk inside the gym with Adam following us since we had pushed him off of us. "Nothing. But seriously, Adam, do you have any idea how long we were waiting for your lazy ass?" Aaron glanced over at the mentioned boy, who just grinned. "Sorry but this lazy ass was escorting a cute girl back to the middle school building." Adam spoke dreamily. This time I chimed in. "Dude! I didn't think you'd be into younger girls." "Shut up, I’m not. But she was just so beautiful and mature looking, and beside she told me that she was in her last year of middle school." Adam replied while sighing. "Did you ask her name?" This time Aaron asked as I nodded my head. "No, but I’m going to surely meet her again." Adam fluttered his eyes like a love-struck teenager. "I'm glad you boys decided to show up. " The coach said loudly, scaring the living daylights out of me. He looked well-built but frightening and that was definitely not a good combination considering how he gave me a curious look. "So sorry, coach. But cheer up! We brought you another player." Aaron and Adam spoke in sync, which impressed me, while shoving me towards him. I was now officially scared. He was even frightening up close. "What’s your name, son?" He asked calmly which wasn’t so scary. He had an attractive voice when he wasn’t speaking loudly. "Jack, sir." I replied. "Oh, and coach, Jack is a girl." Aaron informed which made me frown when the coach gave me a once over before squinting his eyes in confusion. Come on, just because I look like a guy doesn't mean I am a guy. "Oh, I’m sorry but coming back to the point here. Have you ever played basketball before?" Coach asked. "Yes sir, I have. I played basketball in my previous school and I was the team captain too." “Okay then, if you were the team captain, let’s have a one on one match between you and this team's captain. What do you say?" Coach asked with a smirk which made me smirk as well. Sounded like a challenge. I was glad though that he didn’t mind me being a girl and was ready to see me crush his team’s captain. Yes, I was confident in my playing abilities because of how much I played basketball in middle school. I could crush the guy. "Whatever you would like, sir." "Brad, come over here!" Coach yelled. Did I hear this correct? Did he just say Brad? I turned around and I was face to face with that Brad guy from before. "Hi, I’m Brad." He said while extending his hand towards me. “Jack.” I took his hand into min before giving him a firm hand shake. Adam and Aaron had been silent ever since the coach and I had begun to converse, but now I heard Aaron such in a breath as he looked at Brad. I guess someone forgot to mention this little information to me before. This day couldn’t get any better. What next?
