Okay. I have to admit he does play quite well. Currently me and Brad were playing a one-on-one game against each other. The score was currently 10-9. The one who scored 17 points first was going to win this.
And in my case, I just needed to score 17 points first because I didn’t want to lose from Brad of all people. I just want to beat this guy's butt because he thinks he's so hot asking Sarah on a date. I'll show him who's hot.
I just needed 8 more points to win the game.
Brad had the ball and was sprinting towards his side of the court but I wasn’t going to back down. I followed him and stole the ball from him.
Going to my side of the court, I swiftly shot a three-pointer.
"Yeah baby! That’s what I call a classical dunk." Adam screamed which made me roll my eyes at his stupid comment. The whole team was currently watching the game between Brad and I.
In the matter of a few seconds, I made a two-pointer as well and I only needed 3 more points to finish the game.
Brad had gotten control over the ball and as much as I tried to make a steal, I couldn’t, and I watched him shoot a three-pointer. As soon as the ball went through the hoop, he smirked in satisfaction.
He just needs 4 more points now. I have to say this guy is pretty good. But I have to focus on the game even more now if I want to win this.
The coach threw the ball in the air and I got control over it. I made a dash towards his side of the court and I was just close to it when Brad stole the ball from me and sprinted towards his side.
I followed him and tried to steal the ball back but he just didn’t give me an access. He scored another three-pointer and the whole team cheered.
He just needed one more point and this game could end in his favor.
The coach threw the ball in the air again and this time Brad got it. He started to sprint towards his hoop and I followed him. But this time I managed to steal the ball from him and before he could to steal it back, I start sprinted towards my hoop. I managed to shoot a three-pointer which made me raise my arms up in victory.
Cheers erupted in the gym as I looked over at the basketball team.
"Yeah! That's my homie over there. Jackie, my boy." Aaron screamed while running towards me. He gave me a hug before picking me up while I laughed in amusement, but he soon set me back down on the ground with his face twisted in a disgusted expression.
"Ew, dude you're sweaty!"
"Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know that." He grinned at my sarcasm.
"Man, that was a great game." Adam stated looking at me with adoration.
"Thanks. So, how’d you like that, coach?” I asked the coach who came over to me.
"I must admit, you played exceptionally well. Have you thought about joining the basketball team?" The coach spoke while extending his hand out for me to shake. I shook his hand with a smile before shaking my head.
“As much as I’d like that, I don’t really want any distractions. I want to graduate with great grades, that’s the plan for now.”
"Well, we’ll always be willing to take you any time you want, so if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me.” The coach smiled at me before he turned to look at the whole team that was now in front of him.
"And I’ll see you all tomorrow for practice. Got it?"
"Yes sir!" The whole team replied in unison.
"Go home and rest up, boys." The coach spoke before he dismissed all the guys. He exited the gym while the team went over to the locker room.
"Hey Jack." I heard someone say from behind me and believe me when I turned I wanted to smirk so bad, but I controlled myself.
"That was a great game. You sure are good." Brad smiled which made me smile too. Well, he didn’t seem so bad now judging by how boys usually reacted when they would lose to me – a girl – his was the only reaction that wasn’t immature.
"Good? She was f*****g amazing!" Adam exclaimed.
"Yeah she was. Maybe we could play again sometime, maybe you’d be willing to teach me a few tricks." Brad spoke up which made me chuckle.
"Yeah, I’d like that." I said smiling at him. Maybe this guy wasn’t so bad. I mean I always like people who praised me. Yes, I liked people who praised me. But only if they have a reason to do so. Unnecessary ass-kissing is just that, unnecessary.
So maybe he wasn’t so bad after all. Maybe we could be friends. Maybe.
"So, I’ll see you guys tomorrow. Bye." Brad spoke while walking backwards towards the direction of the gym.
“Catch ya later, dude.” Aaron waved his hand and we watched the guy leave the gym to go to the locker room.
"I think that guy wasn’t so bad." I said out loud before turning to Adam and Aaron.
"Yeah he isn't bad at all. He just doesn't know the meaning of a simple word ‘no’." Aaron said while putting his hands in his pockets.
I agreed as well as Adam as we walked out of the gym. I frowned when I smelt the sweat.
“Ugh, I need a shower when I get home.”
“Oh yeah, you do.” Adam quipped which made me give him a glare.
"My sister would be waiting for me, and now she’s going to complain about the stench of sweat." We walked over to the parking lot as Adam and Aaron laughed at my situation.
I found my beautiful car in just a minute. Aaron and Adam were still walking behind me.
I reached my car and saw Ravenna standing beside it, waiting for me.
I was going to make my presence known to her when an arm grabbed me from behind and pulled me back.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed with a hushed tone when I saw Adam and Aaron on my two sides. The arm that grabbed me was Adam’s as he subtly looked over the trunk of the car, over to the direction of my car.
"What the hell Adam? What are you doing? " I asked him again, considerably lowering my voice a little more. I looked over at Aaron and he was confused as well. We were crouching behind someone’s car.
"It's her." That's all that came out of Adam's mouth which did nothing to get rid of the confusion.
"What do you mean, Adam? Could you be more precise?" Aaron said this time.
"I meant her, the girl beside Jack's car. It's the girl I met today, who came into the high school building by mistake." Adam said pointing towards Ravenna.
Oh. Hell. no.
"Dude, that’s my sister!" I exclaimed, half yelling at him. This got both Aaron and Adam to look at me with their mouths wide open.
"What? You had a sister and you didn’t tell us?" Aaron half yelled now. What does he mean by I didn't tell them? They didn't even ask.
"You guys didn't even ask me if I had siblings or not." I said now more calmly.
Aaron burst out laughing, and I just wondered how this guy had the audacity to laugh at such a serious matter. I just found out that my dear friend Adam over here had a high school crush on my sister. And all Aaron had to do was laugh like an i***t. This guy seriously had a death wish.
"What the hell Aaron? This is a serious matter, so stop laughing." I spoke seriously but he was unaffected as he clutched his stomach in a failed attempt to stop laughing.
"I'm sorry, Jack. I didn't know she was your sister." Adam apologized ignoring Aaron now completely, as I did the same.
"Dude, first of all, she is my sister. Then second of all, she is in middle school. And then third of all she’s waiting for me, so I have to go now. But we will talk about this tomorrow. Okay?" I said looking at Adam's upset expression.
"Okay." He replied quite sadly. "Don't worry. This won't affect our friendship." I said to him to make him feel a little better.
"Thanks." He smiled at me and I reciprocated.
"Aw. You guys are no fun. I thought you were punch Adam in the face or something.” Aaron said pouting.
I think this guy wants to die today. And seriously, this guy pouted again.
"Dude, never pout again. You look like the ugly duckling while doing that." I said looking at Aaron then continued looking at both of them now, "I'm going now. But we will have a talk tomorrow.”
With that said I stood up and made my way towards my car and towards a now angry Ravenna.
"Where were you? I was waiting for you for like an hour." Ravenna said angrily stomping her foot in protest.
"Oh, has it been an hour already.” I just shrugged her off.
"Whatever." With that said she just got in the car, after I unlocked it.
Maybe it wouldn't be too bad if Adam took this girl on a date. Maybe going on a date would get her stupid attitude to go away.
"Now do you plan on standing there for the rest of the day?" Ravenna said with her head out of the car window, which made me fake smile at her.
"Stupid girl." I mumbled and got in the car before starting up the engine.
Driving out of the parking lot, I played the radio, just so I could drown Ravenna’s voice as she had begun to talk about the minute of things that happened in her day.
Yep, maybe I should give Adam a chance to tame the wild animal. Before her claws come out. Maybe I should.
