The next evening, the air over Aarav’s town grew strangely heavy. Birds vanished from the sky, dogs howled in terror, and an unnatural chill spread across the streets. Aarav felt it instantly — a pulse of corruption that gnawed at his chest.
He ran towards the forest, where the meteor had first fallen. The trees were twisted, their leaves blackened as if drained of life. At the center stood a figure cloaked in shadows, his form shifting like smoke.
His eyes burned crimson. His voice was like a thousand whispers crawling into Aarav’s mind.
“So… you are the boy who carries the fragment.”
Aarav clenched his fists. “Who are you?”
The figure stepped forward, and the earth cracked beneath him.
“I am Kaalraith… the Herald of Eternal Night. Where I walk, light dies. Where I breathe, hope ends. My master Zyron has commanded me to prepare your world for darkness.”
The very mention of his name made the air colder. Shadows spilled from his body like venom, spreading across the forest, swallowing trees into black mist.
Aarav’s body glowed, the cosmic armor wrapping around him. His veins lit like constellations as he rose into the air.
“If you want to bring darkness to my world,” Aarav shouted, “then you’ll have to go through me!”
Kaalraith laughed, a sound that felt like knives in the soul. With a wave of his hand, tendrils of darkness lashed out, wrapping around Aarav. The boy struggled, but the shadows tried to crush his chest.
Then, in his mind, he heard the calm voice of Lord Vishnu:
“Clarity, not fear. Focus.”
Aarav closed his eyes, channeling the fragment within him. The armor pulsed, and with a roar, he unleashed a Cosmic Blast — a beam of starlight that tore through the shadows. The blast struck Kaalraith, burning away half his smoky form.
But Kaalraith only grinned.
“Impressive. You truly are the Guardian. But remember this, child — I am only the beginning. When darkness rises, even your gods will not save you.”
Before Aarav could strike again, the villain melted into the shadows, vanishing into the night. The forest returned to silence, but a scar of black corruption remained where Kaalraith had stood.
Aarav fell to his knees, breathing hard. His first battle had ended, but the war had just begun.
He looked up at the stars and whispered,
“Kaalraith… I will stop you. No matter what it takes.”
Far beyond the stars, Zyron’s laughter echoed as the universe prepared for war.
