"I won't forget his sacrifice. His death won't be in vain." Titos said despondently, but with a prominent smile on his face.
"He's not dead!" Yama was dismayed. Because of Donovan, she had the chance to revive his brother. She owns Donovan that much.
They were running through the bushes. Along the way, They met some creatures, but none of them were aggressive.
"We've been running for some time already. Go under the shade of that tree and rest a little. I'll go find somewhere to stay the night." Titos suggested and flew away from Yama's bag.
After laying on the tree, Yama closed her eyes, and images of what happened flooded her mind. She was not close to Donovan but thinking how everything was her fault— her chest ached.
Her face showed pain, and if anyone had seen her, they would think she would burst into tears at any moment.
"Sister! Help!"
After she heard that, she opened her eyes and saw a Titos in his expanded form flying towards her in a hurry. Right behind him, a large snake crept. It's killing intent could be felt reeking out of it.
"Ah! Why did you bring that thing here?!"
Titos didn't answer until he reached her side. "Make Nija help me."
Yama was stunned. After everything that happened, she had forgotten about Ninja. "Why?"
Nobody answered, but the cape she was wearing untied itself and flew towards the scarecrow. When it latched on Titos, A powerful fire sprouted from it. It looked as if someone had put it in gasoline and then ignited it. That and Titos appearance made it a dreadful scene.
Right after, its chest opened, and a scythe slowly came out. Ninja wrapped itself on Titos 'arms,' and they immediately move like spaghetti. Like that, they took the scythe.
When the snake was close enough, Titos slashed at its face and sent it flying a few meters.
Its scales were unscathed, but blood dripped from its left eye. The snake wriggled a little until it positioned itself to attack.
"... Sister, I know you won't like it, but can you revive someone else? Ninja's [Soul starvation] won't last long." Right now, Titos was improvising. He didn't know working together with Ninja would unlock his soul weapon— although, very weak.
Yama looked sad. Doing that would have repercussions for the soul she chose. Especially because she didn't have as much spiritual energy as the time when she revived Titos.
While pondering about the fate of that soul, Titos had clashed two more times against the snake. He didn't say anything else because he knew not everyone wanted that kind of fate. And If the revival lacked in quality, the soul would suffer every day until it fades away.
The snake suddenly contracted itself like a spring, its muscles bulged, and some blood sprung of some parts of its body. It was resolute to eat them.
It immediately shot forward speedily, barely noticeable to the eye.
Titos had foreseen that and swiftly dodged to the side. The snake clashed against a multitude of trees breaking them apart. The sounds of explosions reverberated for a few seconds until it stopped.
"In a minute we'll run out of energy," Titos said with some concern in his voice. He was trying to sound reliable, but he couldn't help to feel nervous. Yama's power was their only way out. "The power that guy gave you upset some of the disadvantages. It shouldn't be that bad, right?" after saying that, he headed to the snake's location before it came to disturb her thinking.
Not long after, she heard booming sounds. 'Is my life worth this much? What right do I have to revive someone?' She fell to her knees. A look of despair was on her face. Tears started falling down her cheeks and in a low voice she mumbled, "I don't... why..."
At that moment, there was some movement in her clothes. She moved her hands and took the doll of a woman.
The doll had long hair of some material pinned by twigs. She had a dress made of a potato sack embroidered with a pattern of leaves. The doll looked like a Viking goddess, deer woman.
"Mother..." She wanted to say something but the doll vibrated. She was trying to say something. "I can't do that to you..." Her sobbing was getting worst by the second. "I won't!"
Some meters from where she was, a sound reverberated where a tree stood. It was Titos. This time the flames provided by Ninja were gone, and the scythe he was holding was turning into ashes.
The snake suddenly came out of the woods. Some parts of its scales were black but those wounds were not lethal or harmful at all. It turned to look a Yama and slowly crept towards her. The snake could clearly feel her fear, so it was in no hurry to devour her. After all, that shiny fly couldn't bother it anymore.
The doll was vibrating with much more force than before as if telling her to hurry. She wasn't willing, but as the creature got closer and closer, her panic and desire to live got the better of her.
She used her ability on the doll. Right after a quick glow, the now human size doll dashed in front of the snake and threw a matryoshka doll at its face.
While airborne, the matryoshka doll opened by itself separating in multiple other dolls. When the smallest one appeared, it propelled itself faster than the others, then it grew bigger than the snakes head and separated. Before that, the snake had shot itself towards the doll. Therefore, it went right through.
Titos panicked, Yama panicked, and the snaked got excited. However, the woman doll showed no reaction.
Suddenly the matryoshka doll closed and screwed itself with the snakes head inside. Then it shrunk, and the remaining pieces of the doll follow suit.
Because the other pieces had no shrunk yet, every time one of them covered the other, more and more parts of the snake's body got trapped inside.
As the doll shrunk, it swayed on the ground for some time. Then it stopped and abruptly opened, throwing some clothes made of snakeskin and equipment made of its fangs and bones.
