"What's going to happen to him legally" Victoria asked the detective after seeing her killer.

"Well we tried locating the victim's family so that they can press charges but she doesn't have any close relatives, so it's him against the state, but....

"Mel do I have a lawyer "Victoria cut him off.

"Of course Miss, you've got a whole law firm backing you"

"Well then get them ready I'm pressing charges, I want him to rot in jail".

As they sat in the sports car, on the way to the office, Lana and Mel saw a bill board with Derrick on it as they both stared at it Lana couldn't help but exclaim "I can't believe am married to such a dashing man, can you believe it Mel"

She turned to see Mel still drooling over Derrick's billboard "Mel, what the hell, are you drooling over my husband" she exclaimed and stopped driving, she couldn't help but feel jealous.

Mel was quickly drawn out of thought and she stared at Lana, even though Lana was married to Derrick she hated him.

Mel had always drooled on Derrick because he was super handsome and Lana had always found it disgusting but today things were different, Lana looked different not disgusted.

"Sorry Miss, I didn't mean to" Mel apologized without looking Lana in the face.

Lana didn't know how to take it, she seriously didn't know how to fit into this life and make it her's, Mel was obviously scared of the old Lana and she wanted her to feel free with her ,

"Mel I have amnesia" Lana blurted out.

"What"

Melaine couldn't hide her disbelief for what she had just heard.

"I don't know how it happened but I don't remember anything, that is why I need you to help me " Lana knew just how to get Mel to help her out.

"Miss Lana, should we go to the hospital, is it serious "

"No, I just need you to walk me through my daily routine, help me to remember a few people and most importantly be my friend".

Lana ended in the saddest face she could make.

"Of course Miss anything you need"

And that was all Lana needed

"Well start by calling me by my first name, "Miss" makes me feel like an old woman" Lana ended with a smile.

Mel was happy about the new changes in Lana, they had worked together for a long time but today she was different and she liked this new different, she didn't know how but she felt like this was a new start and she happily embraced it, she smiled as Lana begun driving and they headed to the office.

When they got to the office Lana couldn't believe that she owned such a huge company "COUTURE ROYAL".

They got out and headed inside, it was magnificent, people busily going up and down clothes, materials, shoes , Victoria loved fashion since she was a young girl but she couldn't pursue it because of her finances.

"Don't look Soo surprised Lana, you've been working here for ages, Mel reminded Lana.

As she walked in the building her workers greeted her with respect she had never gotten in her old lifetime, Mel led her to the elevator and hit the highest floor button.

Mel helped Lana greatly at the office she reminded her of all the people she was supposed to know, showed her around the office in a discreet way, by the close of the day Lana was exhausted and she wasn't even done with the files she had to sign and crosscheck, she had to even check emails when she got home, being rich came with such big responsibility but she was already a hard worker so she could cope.

She hurried home so she could meet Derrick, but when she got home he wasn't yet back, so she took a shower and waited , and waited, and waited but he didn't come back until she fell asleep.

It was the same story the next day too, and the day after that .

"He's avoiding me" Lana told Mel, they had grown close the past few days and Lana had concluded that Derrick was avoiding her.

"Come on Lana, Mr. Preston is a busy man, he's probably been very busy with.....,

"He's been too busy to see his wife, Mel I even tried calling his office but his secretary didn't even try to tell him I was on the line" Lana was past frustrated and had started pacing in her office.

"I don't think you can blame her, you've made it clear the past months that you don't want to be associated with Mr. Preston Soo....

"That gives her no right whatsoever to prevent me from talking to my husband" Lana was furious now she felt threatened, Derrick was a husband she didn't even know, yet she felt she had already lost him because he wasn't even trying to give her a chance to save their relationship but she wasn't going to give up.

She took her bag and headed out.
