Elwyn's POV
I stood before the door with the keypad lock, my hands trembling at the thought of what would happen if I entered the wrong code. Fear gripped my mind, not only because of the risk of being caught but also because of the overwhelming uncertainty about where Dennis was. I turned to Jackie, my eyes filled with worry and doubt.
"Jackie," I whispered, my voice shaking, "I'm not sure if this code will work... If I get it wrong, the alarm will go off for sure. We'll be in serious trouble."
He stepped closer, gently placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder, his calm eyes betraying the concern he felt. "Elwyn, we don't have much time. If you're uncertain, we need to think of something else. But if there's even a chance the old code works, this might be our only shot."
