Meanwhile, Ethan returned to the company.

Lila immediately came up to him. "Honey, what did Natalie say to you? Did she tell you to fire me? Let me tell you something. I'll never leave you. Even if I have to be your mistress, I won't leave!"

Hearing this, Ethan raised a hand, stroked her hair, and pulled her into his arms.

"She divorced me."

Joy instantly lit up Lila's eyes. "Really?"

Then doubt set in.

"Are you only saying that to make me happy? How could Natalie divorce you? She's used to living comfortably. How could she be willing to suffer again?"

Ethan took out the divorce certificate and placed it on the desk in front of Lila.

Lila immediately picked it up and flipped through it.

"You're really divorced. Then we've got to throw a party tonight to celebrate you being single again. I'll set it up."

After saying that, Lila left excitedly.

Ethan stared at the divorce certificate and slowly drifted into a daze.

He hadn't expected one reckless affair to truly end his marriage to Natalie.

But he didn't believe Natalie would really leave him.

After thinking for a moment, Ethan took out his phone and made a call.

"I want Natalie Hayes blacklisted across the industry. No one is allowed to hire her."

Ethan was certain that once Natalie ran into enough closed doors, she would come back and beg him to take her back.

Late that night, Ethan went to Club Beast.

Laser lights swept across the VIP room. A huge glass wall reflected the men and women moving wildly onstage. Heavy bass and electronic music pounded louder as the atmosphere heated up.

Ethan sat in a booth, his eyes slightly unfocused.

Lila wore a black sequined minidress. She swirled the whiskey in her glass and pressed herself close to Ethan.

"What are you thinking about? Why are you so distracted? Are you still thinking about Natalie?" As she spoke, Lila straddled his lap and clung to him. "We agreed that when I'm with you, you're not allowed to think about her."

Ethan lifted his eyes and looked at Lila.

"Fine. I won't think about her."

With that, Ethan took the glass from Lila and drank from it. His Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed, giving him a cool, restrained kind of s*x appeal.

Lila suddenly asked, "Have you ever brought Natalie to a club?"

A teasing note entered Ethan's voice, and his answer came lightly.

"I told you. Natalie is introverted and conservative. She would never come to a place like this."

Lila snorted softly, her voice full of disdain.

"Then she really is boring. She has no sense of fun at all."

Ethan raised a brow and pulled her closer. His tone turned playful. "Why else would I be with you?"

Lila suddenly thought of something and leaned into him again.

"Since Natalie has been fired, I want you to give her position as head of the Technology Division to my cousin Dylan Warren. Dylan just came back from overseas, and he graduated from an Ivy League school."

Ethan agreed without thinking. "Fine."

Lila kissed him on the cheek.

"I knew you were the best, honey."

After the party ended, Ethan didn't go home. He went straight to Lila's place.

In the days that followed, Ethan lived as freely as he pleased.

Every day, he lost himself in the thrill of being with Lila.

They went diving, bungee jumping, skydiving, and skiing together.

Anything thrilling, they tried.

Ethan no longer had to worry about Natalie finding out.

At the company, no one questioned his decisions or argued with him anymore.

Now Ethan was the only voice that mattered at the company.

3 months later, Lila moved into Havenridge Villa.

She began living with Ethan.

At the company, the two of them no longer hid their relationship. They arrived in the same car every morning and left together after work.

Thanksgiving soon arrived.

Ethan sat bored in a sofa chair, scrolling through his phone from time to time.

In previous years, Natalie always asked him to visit her parents with her for Thanksgiving.

But more than 3 months had passed, and Natalie hadn't sent him a single message.
