How Could They?

Susan POV (Flashback ended) The whole congregation turned into outrage. Now the stripper guy was standing in front of us all to deal with the final blow which Natasha started? For some reason, he didn't look like a stripper anymore but some powerful boss. "My esteemed guests”, he spoke. I stand here before you all today to let you know that I have every reason to object to this wedding." He began, I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. 'What is this?' I wanted to cry out. How did he even find me or know I was having a wedding, also why did he want to ruin my day? What would he gain from it? The crowd began to murmur in confusion while I wanted to cry as our eyes met and the side of his lips curled up maliciously. "Babe, do you know him?" I heard Landon ask behind me and I didn't know whether to say yes or no. If I said no, it would later be proved that I did but if I said yes, then I would be in for a big shame. This man just wants to ruin me. I decided to just keep shut and began to tremble unconsciously till Landon came closer and wrapped his hand around me again, pressing his lips to my forehead. "Easy babe, I promise you, this wedding will soon go on.. let's just let him display his stupidity first," Landon assured me and I buried my head into his chest. How I wish that was it but this man wasn't here to display stupidity. Just the truth. "After what you did dear groom, do you think you still have the right to hold her like that?" The stripper asked and I stiffened. 'What? Dear groom? Her?' I thought and a sigh of relief escaped me inconclusively. At least he didn't mention my name but then Landon's? Landon's hands wrapped around me began to shake and I slowly untangled myself from him to see a panicked look flashing across his expression but by the time I blinked, it was gone. 'Was I perhaps hallucinating?' I pondered. "What trash are you trying to insinuate?" Landon snapped, looking agitated and I began to feel this ominous feeling. "Really? How about we ask the chief bride's maid?" The stranger suggested and all colors drained out of both his face and Natasha's who began to shake her head sideways as I turned to look at her. So they were guilty? Oh Lord! Please do not let it be what I was thinking.. please do not let it be that both my husband-to-be and best friend set me up last night. "Shut up," Landon growled and the stranger just burst into laughter before snapping his fingers again, pointing upwards towards where the projector was displayed. That was supposed to be used after the wedding, to show Landon's and my cherished memories, like how we met and so on, so why was this guy pointing towards it? I was about to look down when the projector came on, followed by sounds of moans and groans which were so damn familiar. My blood turned cold as my jaw dropped, watching as Natasha and Landon were having wild s*x in the office. My eyes widened in disbelief as a loud gasp erupted from the crowd. My legs buckled as I stared at them, the expression of guilt on their faces as I suddenly found it hard to breathe, everywhere suffocating as it all made sense. Why Natasha wanted me to be r***d and why Landon was always surprisingly busy at the last moment. Each secret hand gesture or every eye's movement now made sense. How could I have been so stupid? Landon stepped forward towards me, wanting to touch me but I took a step backwards. "P-p-please I c-c-an e-explain." He stuttered while Natasha looked away from me, unable to stand my glare. Silent tears rushed to the brim of my eyelids and rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't believe I was feeling like a cruel b***h earlier when this bastard here, had done worse. 'I can't take this anymore. I have to leave.' I thought and turned to run down the aisle, my veil trailing behind me as people began to call out after me. My wedding dress wasn't enabling me to run away so I tore it apart, including the veil. "Baby, please wait. I am sorry, it was a mistake. I love you, not her." Landon yelled from behind me as he tried to follow, but I made sure I lost him. As I ran and ran to God knows where, thunder clapped and in the blink of an eye, heavy rain began to fall on me, but I didn't care that I was getting drenched. The pain I was feeling was way too much more than that. It felt as if a knife ran through me, twisting my heart. 'How could Landon? How could you? How could they do that to me, after everything we had been through?' I weeped. My dress clung to my body as my makeup and everything was smeared by both the rain and tears. I ran on the street barefooted, with everyone staring at me. As I ran, onlookers took steps backwards, distancing themselves and probably thinking I was a mad woman. I thought of running to God knows where, never knew what I was thinking, my heart beating and feet getting pricked by cruel pebbles. I don't know where I was going. I just want to run away… anywhere. I don't want to see them anymore… not again.. not ever. I was still lost in thought. Suddenly headlights flashed in front of me as a black car skidded to a stop. Before I could react, masked men all came out of the car and rushed to come and grab me. My heart began to race wildly as I fought against them, kicking and scratching anywhere I could hold. "Let me go! Who are you? Let me go." I screamed, trying to alert passersby or anyone to help me but the whole area was deserted. "Shut her up quick." It was the last thing I heard, before something warm was slammed all over my face, covering my nose in particular. I unknowingly inhaled the substance and my lids grew heavy. My world started to fade to black and I gave in to unconsciousness but before I finally blanked out. I noticed one of them… a familiar face.
