16 “Thank you, Shaun,” Sissy said and disconnected, then set her phone on the kitchen table in front of her. J.J. placed a cup of tea next to her phone. “Shaun says there’s enough evidence that all the charges should stick. The DA was at Shaun’s office this morning and filed paperwork to transfer Justin to the county jail in Cheyenne until the trial. Mr. Plat, the DA, predicts a short trial, and a long prison stay.” She wrapped her hands around the mug. Her fingers were cold, despite the sweater she wore and the heat she’d turned up when they got out of bed that morning.
