Fiona arrived back at the lodge to find no one around. She scanned the schedule, and seeing it was a light day with clients, she guessed everyone was taking care of the never-ending list of to-dos a business like this required to keep it running. Until one of them returned, requesting she take over the phones, she would get some work done in the office.
Spending time making the suggested changes to the pamphlets and the winter schedule, answering e-mail inquiries and booking e-mail reservations, she glanced at her phone when it chimed. She took her fingers off the keyboard when she saw who had texted her. On her first day, Carli suggested they all exchange numbers. That included Shaun’s, as he was often at the lodge.
